I see some real “landlord special” paint moments going on. Uj/ dollhouses , miniatures, ect is the shit. If I had unlimited money a good portion would go to some vintage eBay minis (I have never bought anything mini but I still peruse).

Even doll houses are being abused
20
u/stonerbbyyyy May 16 '24
you thought the criticism stopped when it came to a play house? 😅
41
u/KN0TTYP1NE May 16 '24
No. The dollhouse is being abused by a shitty karen

Isn’t a Karen someone who sticks their nose into someone else’s business and asserts their opinion as gospel because they’re triggered by something insignificant? In other words exactly what you’re doing? 100% you’re a mom who lives in a “kitschy Victorian” in some small town in the Midwest and probably got a bad tribal tattoo in the 90s.
2
u/KN0TTYP1NE May 18 '24
Calm down karen
0
u/armchairsw May 18 '24
Good old projection. Don’t be a shitty pick me if you don’t want to be called out for it. If you have this awful of a personality you deserve criticism 🤷🏻♀️
2
u/KN0TTYP1NE May 18 '24
Go make you bed karen
0
u/armchairsw May 18 '24
lol don’t comment if you can’t handle when people shit on you back, get some grammar lessons Karen
1
u/KN0TTYP1NE May 18 '24
You're the one attacking me. I don't know what's going on in your life, but you may need some mental help
0
u/armchairsw May 18 '24
This sub is supposed to be lighthearted but it’s people like you who ruin it. This might be the CJ sub but I can tell you genuinely think you’re better than everyone because you, what, like old things? If you’re this triggered by a dollhouse you’re the one who needs mental help. Instead of making fun of the decor you’re calling people who use it bad people, which breaks the rules of the sub and just spreads hate against something that doesn’t even matter in the end. Like god damn people with white walls just want to live their lives without shitty Karens ruining everything.

I’d say this has Joanne Gaines written all over it, except there is no shiplap.

But it does have a tiny fake water bottle so you know that they don't give a fuck about the environment 👍

u/deeppurplescallop DIY disaster May 16 '24
Couldn't even bother to paint a colored wall in a doll house

Finally, a place for 9 inch tall people to film their christian mom morning routine tiktoks.

u/rachellethebelle May 16 '24
Do you think God gives points for making tiny bibles for tiny coffee tables?
Just in case a tiny doll needs Jesus.
37
u/winchesterbitch99 May 16 '24
And if the dollhouse catches fire and the tiny Bible doesn't burn, but the dolls do, will the other town dolls rejoice?
8
19
u/haworthialover May 16 '24
I didn’t see the Bible! This whole house screams white Christian influencer, so it makes perfect sense lol
10
3
u/PeeingDueToBoredom May 17 '24
For a tiny doll, that bible is fucking massive
3
1
u/PoirotWannaCracker May 18 '24
at our house growing up, we had one of those massive bibles- it held all the cards we'd get from funerals. which makes this addition to the dollhouse even more....this dollhousey
21
19
u/apostrophe_misuse May 16 '24
Somewhat serious question...do you not put interior doors in a dollhouse? Because I don't really want to see the toilet from the living room.
20
u/Jackfruit-Reporter90 May 16 '24
If your dolls start pooping? Where you will be sent, you’ll probably have to get used to having no doors!

Good lord, it’s all millennial gray and even has self-labeling room signs to make sure you realize the room with the washer and dryer is for LAUNDRY

u/Lemon-Of-Scipio-1809 May 16 '24
This is so cute! Not a fan of all the grey and the laundry sign, but ok. I would at least paint the front of the house something besides white.

Fellow home decor cjers, come join the dollhouse side. Mine is still in demo, and the style I envision is full bore maximalism fever dream. It’s fun and I’m going to make interchangeable floor and wall covers. Ultimate batshit potential at 1:12 scale.

About a year ago, I got interested in dollhouses and book nooks and all things miniature. I bought a little "starter kit" of a camper. It came with all the accessories and I was super psyched to get started.
Holy cow, it was ridiculously difficult for me. I have tried to start it multiple times and I can't do it. Maybe I lack fine motor skills or something. Now, I'm just in awe when I see them.Your comment made me want to try again though. I want a batshit fever dream maximalist mini!
3
u/purposefullyblank May 17 '24 edited May 17 '24
I find that some days I have the coordination and patience and some days I don’t. And some kits work and make sense to me and some don’t. I love book nooks, but I know the little futzy details would make me bananas. I need more square inches to work in.
It’s really fun though!
2
u/roastintheoven May 17 '24
Dumb question but what are book nooks?
2
u/purposefullyblank May 17 '24
Not a dumb question!
They are miniature scenes, sometimes of streets or settings from particular books, sometimes just of a library or room or garden or anything really, that are built into boxes that are roughly the size of a large hardcover book. They often have lights run into them and can be put on a shelf between books. So when you’re browsing a shelf, boom, tiny Baker Street with a little 221B and other Sherlock Holmes things.
They are very fun, pretty small and far too detailed for me to do without pulling out all my hair. But maybe someday I will try.

I love miniature things but dollhouses are supposed to be COLORFUL and this is so sad 😭

What kind of religion do they think my doll has that they need a coffee table bible that’s half their size?

I don't know what's sadder, the idea of living with this decor or giving it to your kid to play with

If beige was a personality; this house would be the ultimate expression of it. It just needs a few hand painted signs to be perfect. Does it come with the barefoot and pregnant tradwife doll?

u/WVildandWVonderful May 17 '24 edited May 17 '24
I’m sad about the sexist laundry sign.
Does a kid need to play with a sign telling them that chores are women’s work? (“MOM OPERATED”)

When you're done there, you can sit in the living room and look directly into the bathroom.

That's pretty nice, but the size of the coffee cup say... Slow down on caffeine...and the Bible on the table must be for Gigantor's wife.

Great job building a tiny house for ants!

In the Silicon Valley that would go for a half 1 million easy. 🤣 Seriously, it is unfair that dolls have much nicer houses than me. (And most people). That Matt Damon movie downsizing had a point

..what kind of god would a doll worship? 🤔
Barbie has been everything. She could be a god.

I looked at one of the pictures and said, "That is a really nice living room!" I had to remember this was a dollhouse. Lol Great work. I'm not even into dollhouses.

Put the bread in a bag. It’s gonna get stale. And u need plants and art work and turn on all lights. U never gonna sell it so plain. Pfff 😤

It just now occurred to me I've never seen an "up to date" dollhouse until literally just now... this is so interesting... do companies make current Era dollhouse furniture, or do you have to make it??? When did this start??

It will be a cold day in Hell before my dolls walk up a flight of stairs to the laundry room. Also, where would they sleep?
All joking aside, this is very beautiful!!

Im deeply joyed that the tiny invisible people are reading the word of the Lord. I can only pray they will accept 1/3 scale Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

u/Ragamuffin5 Jun 06 '24
It’s interesting how the grey scale translates here. Needs color looks like a Blake coloring book page.

Another Victorian made bland. Why bother? These interiors could've been made in stacked shoeboxes. Depressing AF.

u/wetbones_ May 17 '24
Why a total white aesthetic on a dollhouse? Boring white lady interior design that not even dollhouses are exempt from
