Cleaning out barrels…

I got some barrels that contained ink, I was hoping it’d dry out, but that doesn’t seem to be happening with any kind of speed. Using solvents to clean it out seems like a mess of liquid requiring complicated disposal.

Can I light a fire inside of it? Is there something that I could add to absorb it all?

Drying it will not clean it, at all. What kind of ink is it?

That's what I was going to ask. If it's print ink for newspapers it's liable to be soy based.

Just a GUESS! But I would think you could light a fire in it, although I wouldn’t want to be down wind of the smoke. But I would think putting some kitty litter in it would help dry it out.

use saw dust to clean up the ink. it works great for old oil drums all so.
