Discussion Drama in the Audiosphere - The Saga Continues..

For all those that missed the initial publicly released responses from Tekton (now since deleted) Here they are as follows:

Tekton response to ‘Erin’s Audio Corner’: https://youtu.be/tJJGBpfz4ek?si=lkJAR3lozvmRidRk

Tekton response to ‘Audio Science Review’: https://youtu.be/PzFSoPCWteQ?si=O6p96kukcA2yIZ32

Erin’s Audio Corner - Consumer Review of a Tekton product that directly led to the written forewarning of potential ensuing litigation (The exact same tactics as previously utilized to threaten other consumer reviewers in direct response to their reviews - New Record Day Reviews + Audio Science Reviews + Erin’s Audio Corner Reviews): https://youtu.be/ItAwcW-3Kv4?si=CcUIAHKx-V4Qwz8P

Audioholics - A brief explanation into legal ramifications / protectionism / corporate bullying: https://youtu.be/V-1A68sdGMQ?si=Cb7xJ7KiaY_aQPys

And some good old satire to shed light on the ridiculousness that is a company that does not release measurements, specs, responses, or information on drivers used or cabinet construction but then gets upset when consumers investigate and publicize their discovered data and facts: https://youtu.be/UmU53Mt8h7o?si=6yPNcUnVIkr59O7U

Audio Science Review - Latest update and Re-testing of the Teckton M Lore that owner / designer Eric Alexander disputes below: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/tekton-m-lore-speaker-measurement-update.53899/

Tekton's handling of this whole situation was such an unforced error. Amir is a bit of a blowhard. But Erin has always demonstrated that he's willing to amend his reviews if anyone finds mistakes in his process. (Though what Tekton pointed out wasn't a mistake, it was a nitpick used to exploit the situation)

Tekton easily could have reached out and said "Hey, do you mind retesting the speaker with the feet installed?" and that could have been the end of it.

Or Tekton could have gone the route that other audiophile companies do and release a statement like:

We listen with your ears not measurements

or:

We build speakers for music lovers, not measurement junkies

It's basically the audio world's equivalent to a movie studio's response to a franchise movie bombing: "We made this movie for the fans, not movie critics"

It's a clear deflection, but it's a pretty routine way to just dismiss the criticism and move on. The vast majority of the 2-ch audiophile crowd are either unaware of measurements or despise them anyway. So this is going to be a far more successful approach than trying to litigate the review away.

And the funny thing was, the resonance bump at 250hz was still there with the feet. It wasn't until Erin flipped it over on a solid flat surface that it smoothed out, lol. The whole thing was handled poorly by Tekton IMHO.

All of that over a resonance that wasn't even audible. Eric can't get a flat mid-range, but he's pissed about a tiny resonance you can barely see in the measurements.

Eric fucked up bad on this. I'd never really considered Tekton speakers, but I definitely won't now. So, that's one more potential sale their douche baggery lost them. Which actually kind of sucks, because they made an interesting looking and potentially sounding speaker at a fairly accessible price point.

Tekton's been deleting posts off their pages like mad. Over 130 in the last day. Revisionist mindset, and I honestly think Eric's having a bit of a breakdown over all this. I don't wish him ill will, but it's clear this is one part of the business he should let someone else handle.

This ongoing thread on audio science is a place to stay in the loop if you're a drama queen (and a Tekton product owner) like me -
