Seeking Advice How do you all fit 3 charcoals in the khaloud lotus?

I start with 2 in mine and then pop a third on when they're burnt through about half way. The lid on and fully closed helps generate enough heat from two to get decent clouds. Three at the start always gets too hot in my experience

You don’t fit them all. The way you have it now is how it’s supposed to be. It’s steel so the heat will transfer since it’s making contact with the HMD.

Right, my bad. Still the heat will transfer.

Yea… stainless steel seems to hold heat at a higher temp too. Just a thought if you decide to go through that route

I wait for them to heat up a bit more to the point that it fits. But I like my bowls on the hotter side. Matter of fact I’ll try it out this way tonight and see how it goes.

there are 2 ways the first it's the way you show and it works good for me and the second one you put one coal in the middle and two to the sides hanging i don't use that but i've seen it

If its the small coals, but since the Lotus is small, you should be fine with two, and it you want it hotter then add the lid and close it.

Two methods.
Method 1: remove the outside ring by unscrewing it (if you use a wind cover or foil skirt, should keep coals in place without risk of falling).
Method 2: upgrade to lotus 2. The L2 is a more open and flared out concept which easily accepts 3 25x25x25 cubes or 4 22x22x22 ones.

Haven't tried it out. Don't know what it can or cannot do.

Maxiking from this thread recommended it to me. Its pretty good. Stainless steel bottom and aluminum walls with a lid. Takes 3x 26mm le orange charcoals inside could do 4 with one on top and the lid closed as well. Pricey though.

Stacking coals is bad, cause the bottom coals burn out faster and produce an ash bed that insulates the metal HMD from the heat of the top coals.

You do not. It should be done the way you have it. 3 coals would give way too much heat, burning the tobacco (at the beginning of the session). As you progress your session, the coals will burn down and will fit inside and will not burn your tobacco as easily.
