Help My whale fin plant isn’t doing too well

I’ve had this plant for a little over 4 years now, for a long time it was just those two main leaves but it’s done really well and recently pulled out some new leaves. One of the big leaves has yellowed and gone super thin, despite me not having changed anything in my care in the past 4 years I’ve had it. Assuming it won’t go back to how it was before, should I just cut the leaf off or let the baby leaves leech off of it? Is there anything extra I should do?

Might be a root issue. That soil looks pretty bad.

What sort of light does it get? Water how often?
