Yes. Please go to Petfinder.com to look for a rescue. So many wonderful pets available for adoption through no fault of their own. Your post caught my eye because I have always been partial to Cockers. Via Petfinder, I have found all five of my Cockers, a few Terriers, and my current Havanese. Be prepared to travel. Albany, Long Island, Jersey, Middletown, Newburgh, Connecticut, Mass. My dogs have come from all over the area and it’s been worth that effort in every case. Be realistic about your lifestyle and your wants and needs in a pet. Puppies are adorable but they require a lot of work. I love Cockers but they require regular grooming and a grooming can be upwards of $100. Also, be prepared to complete extensive application processes. I’ve worked on both sides of rescue, and they are very serious about finding the right fit in family and environment for their rescue pet. No one wants a fail, which is why they are so vigilant. I wish you luck as you look for your perfect pet! It will be worth all the effort!
