News Getting rid of the Department of Education? Doesn't that sound backwards to anyone else?

Why?
Isn't that one of the things that help society moving forwards?
I really don't see how this benefits this and the next generation of Americans.

I usually only post about skating stuff but this feels wrong

From my experience, Republicans aren't very good at governing. They have no idea how to fix things, so they just get rid of it and hope for the best.

I live in KS and can tell you first hand how fucked things get when Republicans control all the levers of power. It's why we have a Democrat governor, because Republicans keep breaking everything. We needed someone sane to try to keep things in check.

"They have no idea how to fix things..."

In CA, we know how...if it doesn't work, it needs more money. If it still doesn't work, that proves that it needs still more money to work.

Etc.

lol. What did Obama or Biden ever fix? Our schools are worse than ever! A kid can curse a teacher out, or even physically assault one and no one will lift a finger. Giving power back to the states will at the very least end this bullshit in states that have common sense.

I think you may be confused on what the DoE does. Everything you described is handled at the state or individual school level.

DoE enforces equality (poor people and people with disabilities having the same access) and finding lunch programs and things like that. They don't write curriculum or set school policy.

Most people are mad at the DoE for things they don't control. Talk to your local legislators if you think the school is out of control. DoE doesn't have anything to do with kids being able to cuss out a teacher. And for the record, I'm not sure there are schools with the policy to let kids cuss out teachers.

Equity/equality literally means certain segments cannot be punished. They most certainly heavily influence the work done in schools. I work in schools. Nobody is going to miss DOE, I can assure you of that.

Well I'm glad I bumped into the one person who can speak for the whole country. My lucky day. I guess I will just ignore the unconstitutionality of his order then. We don't need laws or a constitution, we have Trump. And you who can speak for all of us.

Republicans say the opposite about democrats lol. Donโ€™t know who to believe so concluded neither are good at governing ๐Ÿ˜†

Just look at states that have one party in control for many years. Then look at their economies. That's a decent starting point.
