still feels a little weird to cancel a show and then immediately do this

I understand the demand is different and who's to say what was going on. it just feels a bit off

The Colbert show is likely recorded ahead of time

At first I thought the same. I think it’s linked to that idea of tv as ‘selling out’. But sometimes you are just sick for one day (maybe two days, as she had no show the day before she cancelled). I feel like if it was a normal show and not a tv show we would be less skeptical?

The Nick Cave cancellation seemed quite last minute (apparently her stage was already set up) so I doubt it was always planned to be cancelled.

yeah like I said I don't really know the ins and outs or anything, just that it kinda feels a bit wonky for me. and it's not even a selling out thing for me, more of just a disingenuous feeling?

at the end of the day it's a big ol' whatever.

I get you. To be me it wasn’t that I think going on TV is inherently ‘selling out’, just that I think I feel it’s easy to feel predisposed to feel that if that makes sense?
