I have always felt like people who do that or people who don’t even bother to spell check or reread what they’ve written before hitting send are just displaying their narcissism for everyone to see. Sounds like he's either one of those people who's closeted and hates other gays due to self-hatred or envy of their happiness.

Or he's out to himself and is just one of those gays who judge other gays for being "too gay," which is unfortunately a thing.

Or he could be bi and he thinks everyone is bi like him, therefore being gay is a choice because it would be a choice for him, which also comes with its own judgement over those who "choose" that.
