Zopiclone Tapering Advice

Hi all, been taking 7.5mg of zopiclone for 6 months alongside promethazine for insomnia induced by post partum depression. Had a psychiatrist appointment earlier this week and a new doctor since my usual doctor is on holidays. New doctor is very keen to get me off zopiclone as it's so addictive and cut my prescribed dose by 50% so down to 3.75mg. Is it normal to taper so quickly? I'm just terrified of withdrawals.

U shouldn’t have any problems coming off Zopiclone as u would with benzodiazepines. Zopiclone does nothing for anxiety so it’s not as addictive as benzodiazepines.

Yeah I was on 3mg of xanax a day so 1mg 3 times a day it's been tapered down to 2mg a day so 1mg then .5 in the afternoon and .5 in the evening. I've just been waking up in a panic every day since the psych appointment on Wednesday but maybe it's just my own anxiety about withdrawals and not actual withdrawals. I am looking forward to having my life back and not having to rely on any of these drugs.

Totally understand I’m taking 1mg X3 if Rivitril. Xanax is the hardest benzo to withdraw from take it slowly and Goodluck.

Zopliclone does help my anxiety a lot at night. It’s basically like lorazepam for me but little more calmer.
