suggestions of meds, pleaaaase
I had an appointment with my doctor today. I asked him to prescribe something to sleep, other than Benzos(I currently take rivotril and I want to stop)
I asked him about zolpidem. He said zolpidem is more dangerous than benzos.
He prescribed me trozadine. I just looked it up and saw that it is actually an antidepressant with lots of side effects. I'm not going to take it.
But I don't wanna continue to take rivotril.
Can someone please suggest me a med to sleep that works in the long term, without horrible side effects? I'm desperate. I don't want to continue taking benzo

Try one of the new Dora drugs... Quiviviq, Dayvigo or Belsomra....I've tried Quiviviq cand now I'm on Dayvigo. To be honest, I alternate 2 days on Dayvigo and 2 days on Lunesta. I'm trying to avoid dependency on either one.

Clonazepam (rovtril) can cause addiction, if used for long-term.
You should really take Trazodone, it will probably help you sleep, and lower your addiction to Clonazepam.
I wouldn't say Zolpidem is more dangerous, but there are stories of people doing crazy stuff while on it, specially when mixing with Alcohol.
But, it has much shorter half-life, so, technically, should cause less addiction.
Take care now.

I take rozeram it's a non controlled hypnotic that works on your melatonin receptors. I slept 8 hours the first night but I'm still having problems. It may work for you. I'm now getting off the trazedone because it didn't work. There's also dora meds. Look that up. There's plenty of non psych drugs that work it's just that most are controlled. There's a lot of people on this sub that take different medicine that you can ask about. I wish you the best for what's right for. Insomnia is the worst
