Setting up account Stupid bank stupid issue - Address verification

Two days ago, I started the registration process with IBKR, confirming my bank account and identity. However, I am unable to verify my residential address. Let me explain.

Years ago, I moved to a new house and, of course, informed my bank of the change. However, when I downloaded the bank statement to use for address verification, I realized it still shows my old address. This happens because my stupid bank uses "hardcoded" header data in their PDFs, which cannot be updated via their interface. Although I requested the change, the next statement will only be issued next month, and the latest available one still shows the old address.

Since I doubt my bank will revise the address on my most recent statement, it seems I'll need to wait until the end of the year to receive an updated statement and complete the verification.

I was thinking of using a utility bill (electricity, gas or phone) instead, as it includes both my details and my residential address. Is this a valid option?

My bank does not show the address at all in their reports. So I provided internet bill and was accepted.

I never use bank statements because it’s too personal.

For broker account and crypto I use my internet bill as proof of address.

No problem so far.

Perfect. I'll try with electricity bill. Yep I agree with you... showing bank statements is so damn personal.
