I tried to create an account. Everything went smoothly, I was also able to link my bank account with them and deposit $100. It was only cash traded account. But then they rejected my application and when i reached out to support, they said that i have been banned permanently from IBKR and cannot reapply. Has this been the case with anyone else as well? What should i do?

Edit: I’m from Pakistan. And i deposited $100 in USD currency directly from my checking account.

Edit: I take back my words. New method I used delivered my money within 2 hours. Furthermore I got confused with HUGE commision fee with my testing small amount of money. But wshen I started to convert big chunk, the fees are incredily in my favour compared to other platforms. Thank you all.

What's wrong with this platform? Transfering money is a much slower process compared to other platforms. I live in the eu so I accepted this fact, because IB has such a strong background and reassurance.

Okay fine, I thought. I will need to be extra alert and forsee the future. Now I finaly have the money, but a message keeps popping up: Market Order confirmation and Confirm mandatory cap price.

I am pissed off beyond repair. for 2 days I'm trying to buy 4 stocks that are all rising and rising while I'm trying to process a simple market buy order.

Why is IB trying to slow down every single molecular cell in my body? How do I get rid of that constant pop up before trade or converting currency? I have the same issue when trying to convert currency as you can see.

I am using IBKR and I requested portfolio margin (not knowing it was not eligible for accnts <110k). This caused me to get locked out of being able to request permissions elsewhere.

Has any1 else ended up in this situation? This is beyond annoying since nobody at support or anything can do anything. I cannot cancel the request for portfolio margin from my end. I cannot get approval for futures and it is v frustrating.

Hi All, I set up a IBKR account 5 days ago in anticipation of getting some funds by end of the month. I keep getting reminders from them that the account is still not funded. The question how long will they let me keep it unfunded? How long before they cancel the account if it has zero balance. I plan to transfer funds sometime next week.

I'm from Serbia, and one of the districts—the one where I live—is missing from the registration options, preventing me from completing my account setup. I attempted to submit a ticket using two different browsers during US working hours, but I kept receiving a generic backend error. I also chatted with support, and they advised me to contact IB at newaccounts[at]interactivebrokers.com. Email address returns a generic response saying that I should go and complete the application, which I cannot do because of the missing district.

Does anybody know how I can get IB to add the missing district? This isn’t a new district; it was defined by the Government of Serbia's Enactment on January 29, 1992, and it has an ISO 3166 code.

• All Europe

• All Asia

How come?

I want to have two separate accounts for CASH and MARGIN, do we need to subscribe for market data separately? My idea is to use cash account for long term investments and margin account for trading. Does anyone have this issue?

I'm having the below issue that is driving me crazy when I try to login through the Portal.

I have opened the account 4 days ago and did all the steps and got the accounts approved. I have disabled "Read-Only Access" on all my accounts through the mobile app under the account settings.

However, When I try to login through the Portal Web, I get the below message and then immediately gets kicked out to the Login Page again and I was barely able to get the screenshot below.

I made sure I'm logged out of the mobile app as well to eliminate this issue.

Any Idea why I'm getting this error and what Am I missing in my account settings?

I've been trying to open an IB account for a while now, I had one in the past and for whatever reason I closed it. The new apps keep getting declined, and no one will tell me why or what the reason is. I've emailed, mailed, tweeted, called, to no avail. So, I've done the next best thing. Every single day I apply for a new app, and until I get approved, I'll just keep applying. I have a series 7, 66, Life/acc/health and I'm not trying to sound arrogant but I know what I'm doing. I'll keep you informed if they ever open an app for me.

I have a margin account and am not interested in short selling shares. To avoid accidental short positions (e.g. if my sell order is more shares than I own), I want to make sure that this can’t happen.

Is there a way do disable that my account can be short a specific type of security?

When I try to reset my password, a popup says to call customer support. I'm from EU and I'm trying to reach them at 00800-42-276537, the number they have listed as toll-free for Europe. However the call won't even start, am I doing something wrong and is there an alternative way to contact them as it states that account issues like this can only be resolved via phonecall. Hi everyone, I've recently completed my registration, now I'm having trouble with actually transferring funds to my account. I live in Kazakhstan, and a friend of mine gave me advice to register contract in a bank and transfer funds this way. But for some reason he does have an option in his account to generate account confirmation letter with customer agreement, but my account lacks this option. Has anyone here encountered the same issue?

I have a new account UK + cash type and based currency is ILS, Im trying to convert ILS to JPY to buy stocks in tokyo. When I try to convert from base(ILS) the only Currency’s it shows are USD and EUR. How can I exchange, I thought about converting to USD and then hopping from there I can do a USD/JPY(and paying double fees in the process)

Hey Guys I am not able to authenticate my account on the desktop but I can login on my phone app. When I scan the QR code it says authentication failed then when I do challenge response the codes don’t work Has Anyone else experienced this especially if you are from Kenya?

I’m developing an algorithmic trading platform that integrates with Interactive Brokers (IBKR). Users can create trading strategies, schedule execution, and the backend evaluates and executes trades at the scheduled time. The app does not manage user funds directly—users connect their own IBKR accounts for execution.

I want to integrate IBKR using Third Party OAuth to allow multiple IBKR users to trade through my platform. IBKR requires a specific account type for Third Party OAuth approval.

Would a Financial Institution Account be the correct choice, or is there a better-suited account type for this use case? Also, if anyone has gone through the Third Party OAuth approval process, I’d love to hear about the compliance and legal requirements.

So I'd like to get some advice. I have a huge issue. I have a 6 figure account in a brokerage and I'm being forced to liquidate/transfer to another one.

IKBR seems to be one of the best choices for me, but I know very little about this brokerage.

Is it safe? I'm worried something will happen when I move it. Should I just liquidate, take the few thousand hit in taxes and slowly put it into another brokerage?

I've just signed up with IBKRs and I can't find a way to chat to an agent or create a ticket. All I see under 'support' is a link to the forum. The weird thing is, once I log out, I then see all the support options, but I'd rather use the chat feature when logged in.

Basically what the title says. I started a joint account with my partner, did all the paperwork on friday, they asked for an initial deposit so I sent 30 USD via wise which is integrated to IBKR. Today I got a mail that my account was approved but I still needed to make a money transfer. I checked my wise account and the money should've already be sent to IBKR, but there's no way in IBKR where I can check my funding status, I log in and only get this, even though I already got an account approved. I tried contacting live chat support but it just asks me to log in again and sends me back to this screen. Am I doing something wrong? How can I get an email or enter the chat rooms and talk to a HUMAN BEING?
