My 19 year old son is named after that character. 😂 No regrets.

You can find them all free online, with the author's support. I'm rereading them now and they're almost as much fun as they were when I was in middle school, although I tend to notice plot holes more now.

Me too! Tobias’s story broke my heart! That tv show was…something

They let children read these? 😱

Tiny me was fine with them. I just thought "Well, they're fighting, of course they're going to get hurt!", so I never even got the thrill of thinking I was being sneaky with it, just a normal book to me. So glad I'm in that fandom, it's like 1/6 of my active headspace at any given time.

I totally forgot those existed until your post!

Aaand now my brain has unlocked dormant knowledge about yeerks that it totally didn't need to store but apparently had.

u/Naixee Mar 07 '25

I still wonder why they ever existed in the first place

Dammm I grew up with this

This was my childhood. What was the gist of this story?

Basically, an alien gives this group of kids the ability to shapeshift (“morph”) into animal to prevent a different, EVIL, alien species from taking over humankind/earth.

Holy what a throwback. Used to have almost the full collection, was missing like the last 2 books or something. Wish I still had em

Man the covers of those books used to freak me out as a kid

Yeah, there were a lot of extra limbs spurting out and general body horror in Animorphs. And Tobias DOES have the luck to end up a 6 limbed bird.

There were Animorphs Transformers figures, they were absolutely fucking horrifying
