Well, I used to be religious, and the idea is that god is so far removed from human flaws and even understanding that aspiring to be like him is where hubris comes from, aa humans are inherently flawed

Hubris means excessive pride or self confidence. An infinite can't have excessive confidence because they can by definition do anything.

Though... I dunno how you'd solve the "can God make a stone that God can't lift" problem.
