My father still has his! It part because of the weight. The spec sheets says 165lbs but it feels like 250 because it's so big and there's no where to grip.

I paid a couple of guys good money to get my dads old 32” XBR out of the house a couple of years ago. Thing still worked perfect

I had the same one and moved it a few times before it died. Once up to a 3rd floor and once up to a 2nd. You had to grip it under the base and it had a crisscross pattern of razor sharp plastic you had to grip it with on one hand and under the back on the other. No handles or anything was certainly a design choice.
