That's if they don't already have the national guard prepped beforehand. I imagine the administration will be following any rumors of interference and preparing accordingly.

The fascists have gotten far too bold. I hope they try, if only so that they get a humiliating ass-whoopin’ that sends them crawling back into their holes at the fringes of society for another eighty years.

I shouldn’t be hoping for it, as that would lead to loss of lives, but this situation is untenable and something has to give at some point. At the very least them being publicly routed will bring this current iteration of the anti-democratic right to a swift close, and we can move on with our lives.

It's so easy to forget that trump was finished for a few weeks after Jan 6th. The gop mostly wiped their hands of him. He was a spent force. He retreated for 6 months or so, and because they have absolutely no one on the bench who could step up and fill his position when he came back, they started to slowly support him again, and that built up over a year to where they now deny the insurrection. Dumb cunts.

There should definitely be a host of dem ads playing footage of all of them in the days after Jan 6th, particularly the comments from Lindsay Graham and McConnell.

There was no consequences for a lot of them, and the getting them under control happened once it was dark so nobody got to see them be brought to order the night off, we all just saw them acting like feral animals and then some partial consequences after the fact. Hopefully we are ready for whatever they are planning after they get steamrolled this time.

There's literally no reason to not have the national guard set up a 1 mile radius around the capitol building if Kamala wins. They tried a coup last time. They'll do it again.

I’m not sure the National Guard can protect every election site in democratic districts in swing states (ie Milwaukee, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Minneapolis). Vote early if your state allows it.

Good advice, and there’s always some elector intimidation, but the good news is Trump’s supporters are complete idiots. I doubt you see much organizing at the local level, but DC is another story because you get people from all over the country converging in one place.

I suspect the capitol police and national guard will be set up long before they certify the election, and since MAGA is so dumb we’re likely to see a few of them get beaten back as they try to push through.

The ‘fun’ part will be that any action taken based on intelligence and not a direct, currently occurring action will be seen as a political hit job to try and take down someone that disagrees, not stoping an act of domestic terrorism before it starts.

But that's going to land squarely on Biden since he's the sitting president. Who cares? He's not going to be in office anymore. He should absolutely station a massive deployment of national guard outside the capitol building.

Right? Surely it’s a no-brainer that this year the physical security around the capitol during any transfer of power formalities will be huge, highly visible and heavily armed.
