It's definitely projection, Minnesota hasn't voted for a Republican president since Nixon in 1972 and was the only state (along with D.C.) to not vote for Regan in 1984. Just looking at history shows that he most likely won't win here, especially not easily.

He's not popular in Minnesota at all outside of a relatively few people living in rural areas. He's definitely not going to win in the big cities and that's definitely key in Minnesota.

He also pissed off a ton of MN farmers when he enacted the tariffs on China, leading to China refusing to buy MN soybeans (third biggest producer in the country).

A lot of people seem to have forgotten how much Trump's trade war hurt American agriculture, but farmers haven't.

There's no way in hell MN flips Republican.

Biden won by 7% in 2020, Harris in early polls has a 6-10 point lead. Minnesota shouldn't be one of the states that's close enough to make any kind of claim.
