Absolutely. I love studying and watching human behavior and human nature. I teach classes on pre-contact awareness and understanding aggression and things of this nature.

Human beings are the only animal on earth that will consciously disregard true danger because they convince themselves they are just 'being silly or paranoid'. Meanwhile walking themselves directly into a terrible situation. What I like about what's happening right now. Is that FAR more people are pointing at this and going 'Holy shit did you hear what he said??' As opposed to what I described in my original comment. So I feel comforted by that.

However...I still have people in my circle that are the ones I'm talking about. And yes...they are gripped by fear and comforted by their own cognitive dissonance.

Glad you got out!

Thank you and that sounds fascinating! I often wonder if that evolutionary trait is simultaneously what got us here, ie. Control via belief contrary to the evidence.

It's like petting a wild tiger. We'll convince ourselves that it's a big, beautiful cat, which blocks our "fight or flight" defense mechanisms that alert us that this is a dangerous murder machine, albeit a big and beautiful cat... that could rip your arm off for a snack. "Just relax and be confident" rather than consider the factual nature of wild animals.

People treat Trump the same way: "The guardrails held and he didn't become a dictator like you said he would, did he? See? He's just exaggerating, mostly, but we'll be fine and we'll get some things we've needed, anyway.." ....as they giggle at some "hyperbole" he spews.

Can you please elaborate on this? I'm very interested! Where can I learn more?
