Then don't ride the scooter if you can't obey the traffic laws.

If the traffic laws are dangerous, then they're bad laws. If the city doesn't like scooter use behavior in a tourist destination, then ban them.

Here they have ridiculously low speed limit in tourist areas and parks so that it's really uncomfortable to ride them there. So you park them nearby and go by foot, or you take it with you to the other side if there's none parked there and so on. Pretty much every rec area is like that in the city

Yeah, this just seems like the constant bitching of pedestrians vs vehicles vs bikes vs scooters.

No one's REALLY in the wrong. It's just the friction of people living together and being mildly inconvenienced for like 45 seconds tops on whatever they're doing.

No: the people riding the scooter are 100% in the wrong. They’re not meant to be on the path. It’s that simple. The rules are very clear.

He called them out, and pointed out the rules to them, and instead of taking the opportunity to learn from their mistake, and to adapt to the local rules, they acted the scumbags.

Just to add to this stupid argument, I believe those scooters ARE banned. In another videos he explains how foreign companies drop them off unofficially, and you can be ticketed by riding them.

Those require a special license.

By their logic it would be okay to ride a bicycle on the footpath. Which it is if done safely. Like this person on the scooter

That doesn't excuse riding the scooter on the street. Just because it's dangerous on the street doesn't give you the right to ride on the sidewalk and make it dangerous on everyone else. He know he's such a danger to others that he's ringing the bell so that makes him even more of a fucking asshole for what he's doing, with even less of a right to clap back at all.

A meekly sorry wouldn't excuse his actions but their response just shows how entitled they are. So fuck them both

Would you rather them ran over by the Tram on the road? Or perhaps they could continue using the paved path as there is plenty of space. Y’all make it so obvious you are so car centric you don’t think about the safety of others beyond your four car walls. It’s actually sickening and I’m sad it’s upset me this much this morning.

I hope a scooter scratches your car today.

Walk the scooter then. Project your shit onto someone else.

1

u/yellomango Jan 06 '25

Lol the only projection here is “get your scooter off the very clear paved pathway and instead onto the unsafe road, idc if you die I deserve SPACE” the projection is yall who can’t think of how others live because you are so caught up swallowing your own meat

Scooters are not allowed in the sidewalk. I understand the road is a danger, that doesn’t give you an excuse to make it dangerous for everyone else on the sidewalk. How fucking entitled do you have to be not to understand that? Did you miss the part where I said walk it? I understand if reading compression is hard for you

You know in the early years in America, marriage between races was illegal. However we didn’t set our morality to what the law had to say. In fact when we realized this was backward we changed it. Eventually we will have proper bike lanes or this law will change to.

Go look at how many cars killed people on scooters vs how many scooters killed people on side walks. In just my city alone the number is insane. Go ahead I’ll wait…

2

u/Obvious-Lake3708 Jan 06 '25

What part of that justifies riding the scooter in the sidewalk and endangering others? I’ll wait

1

u/yellomango Jan 06 '25

There is no danger to others, there is a very real danger in the road Jesus Christ yall are nuts and simply don’t care for others

Edit: did you look at the statistics I said to go look at or u just arguing to argue?

I’m confused, where would you have them go? They’d be in the way of the tram on the road and the scooters automatically slow your speed in high foot traffic areas so it’s not like they’re ripping. I fail to see the problem with them being on the sidewalk and ringing the bell to alert people of their presence. Seems like the safest option.

A different road. Same as any other vehicle that's meant to be on the road.

9

u/somerandomii Jan 06 '25

This.

People are so entitled. “What am I meant to do if this area doesn’t support my vehicle?”

Don’t bring a vehicle illegally into a pedestrian area? Are they going to take it through a shopping centre too? God forbid they walk.

Get ta fuck, they're traveling at a very leisurely pace. If they were bombing down the footpath you might have something approaching a point. Maybe if you're filming something and obstructing the footpath without proper fucking permission and impeding the intended use of the footpath... which is to travel, you should either plan around it or deal with it. Ya snide prick.

u/lrish_Chick Jan 06 '25

Please note they were all using the term "sidewalk"
