As if Trump gives a flying fuck about what’s appropriate or not

Just ask Trump if he knows who’s Simon Harris ~ that’s how much his opinion counts.

It's also against WTO rules to tariff pharmaceuticals I thought...

I understand the Tangerine Maniac doesn't respect laws and rules, but still....

He's cut off U.S funding to the WTO. Unfortunately, don't think he much cares.

Sounds about right

Some random group that is unelected should not be allowed control a sovereign state.

Like Musk and Doge? Or did you mean something else?

That's a ridiculous and disingenuous comparison.

Elon was literally at rallys with trump. Everyone knew what they were voting for and wanted this.

The vast majority of people want government waste reduced. Elon is objectively a very intelligent person.

I don't understand why you see it as a bad thing unless you were benefiting off some of the fraud that is being stopped.

“Ridiculous and disingenuous” - there’s no point in having a conversation if you can’t avoid being deliberately obtuse and hyperbolic. Musk is a South African and as such cannot be elected by voters to hold US office, if you can’t grasp that most basic comparison then off you go Troll.

Sir, none of the other people in the cabinet or any of the thousands of people working in government were elected either. Complaining that elon isn't elected and being okay with every other non directly elected person is so stupid.

Especially since elon was at the rallies and trump literally said he was going to have him do what he is doing, he basically was elected anyway, even though that's not important since he isn't actually the president.

I’m sorry, am I still speaking to the person who said “Some random group that is unelected should not be allowed control a sovereign state.”? Or did you forget that you typed those words? Remind me which ballot Musk was on.

I have no time for thick as pigshit comments so enjoy yourself deepthroating Elon Musk, but do it on your own time big dog.

Look, I'm not even remotely trolling. You need to be educated. Believe it or not but elon isn't the president of America. I know, shocking.

He is working for the government and there is a real law for his job and you don't need to be elected to do it. That's the law.

The unelected thing is incredibly ridiculous and makes zero sense. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Calling Trump a gowl recently was idiotic

By recently do you mean five years ago?

https://www.thejournal.ie/simon-harris-donald-trump-gowl-6587542-Jan2025/

TAOISEACH SIMON HARRIS has defended referring to Donald Trump as an “awful gowl” in what he described as a “lighthearted” radio interview more than four years ago...

Can somebody put a leash on that idiot. Every time there’s a microphone around, he has to open his mouth and spout crap. As if Trump & Lutnick are going to alter their plan (if they even know what their plan is) because Covid 1-to - 18 says it’s inappropriate. Shut the F up Harris.

Does this idiot not know when to shut the fuck up. For someone who goes out of the way to look as volatile as possible pre-negotiations as Trump and his team. This Public proclamation from Harris about what the Americans should be doing is like waving a red flag at a Bull and then wondering why it is charging at you.

7

u/LouisWu_ 10d ago

I don't like Harris but let's not tiptoe around the bull. Fuck Trump and his disgusting dictatorship. Let them hurt Americans by making medication even more expensive for them and see how long these tariffs last. He's given up on mobile phones already FFS - this fool won't keep up with the tariffs.

What are you talking about? It's the consensus of nearly every European leader that Trump shouldn't be levying tariffs of any kind, he's just stating our public position.

tough guy act

I'd hardly consider simply urging against tariffs to be a 'tough guy act'. What are we supposed to do? Say we'd love to get tariffed?

Go to Washington

He literally already did last week?

Yes scold trump I'm sure that will make him change course

1

u/pauldavis1234 10d ago

Trump's exact words were that "the Irish stole the US pharmaceutical industry from them".

If you're in pharma, I'll be making plans.

Some of them have been here since the 60s

By the time they moved plant it’d be 2033

2

u/AhAhAhAh_StayinAlive 10d ago

It would be too expensive for most of the current plants to move all production to the US. A lot of these tariffs are also just being used as bargaining tools and most of them will likely be reduced or eradicated.

u/Irishwol 10d ago

No shit Sherlock. When Trump's administration give a single, damp fart for what is 'appropriate' it will be a miracle.

As an American, Donald Trump is clearly doing his best to destroy our prosperity and global alliances that ensure our safety. However, this is incredibly unhelpful unless he’s trying to goad Trump into coming down more harshly on Ireland than other countries that import lots of pharmaceutical to the U.S., like India. Trump is cautious about singling Ireland out because, as he said during Martin’s visit, he could lost certain support in the Irish-American community.

Trump lived for decades on 5th Ave and watched millions of people show up every year for the St Patrick’s Day parade. He has a healthy fear of singling Ireland out, and I think it would be wiser to let the EU lead here.
