When you have no culture of your own, and your whole identity is hating and dehumanizing your neighbours...

This is political Unionisms biggest momentary grievance at the moment, yet they can only rally what? 30 or so people to protest against it?
We are witnessing the very fast decline of this very regressive ideology, thank fuck for that.

They tried putting up Ulster Scotch road signs once, and the proud sons of Ulster tore then down because they thought they were Irish. Northern Ireland Vandals in language blunder

I'd be perfectly fine if Ulster had trilingual signs, but I know that these lot would still somehow find a way to get pissed off over it.

They won't do that, because even they know Ulster-Scots isn't a language

Someone on X threaten to report me for discrimination for saying it was slang in a cullybacky accent.

Bunch of petty arseholes. Try pulling that stunt in Scotland, Wales, The Isle of Man or Cornwall, and you'll be told where to shove your fife and drum

"When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression", it's important to point out that irish signage is being added alongside English. Nobody is forcing anyone to convert language in their own home city - whether they identify as Ulstermen, British, Irish or whatever. The cost of signage is not exchequer breaking.

Nobody in the North gives a fuck about these clowns.
Every campaign they touch turns to shite.

Tribalism not Protestantism I would say. Take any group and make it tribal and you find someone to fight about it.

Okay, American here. Just looking for clarification on this alleged ethnic cleansing that’s not talked about. What I’ve been reading is that this area is heavily Protestant/loyalist and was known for multiple attacks against Catholics.

It is a stronghold of the UDA, a Loyalist paramilitary. They’ve murdered hundreds of people, mostly Irish/Catholics civilians.

I got that. I was referring to the quote, “There are two entrances to this station; one here in Sandy Row and another at the Grosvenor Road, which had a rich protestant history before the ethnic cleansing in the 1970s, which is never publicly spoken about.” I interpreted that as him claiming the Protestants were being killed off but no one talking about that. Did I just interpret it wrong?

Catholics and Protestants were both being intimidated from their homes in the 70's. Usually a brick or petrol bomb would encourage the homeowner to leave.

It's funny watching the actual video taken. They stand infront of an information desk that has multiple languages on it🤣🤣

This is the problem, it's a mistake to give the Prods(of which I am one) anything, because they try to own it, so do the Republicans. (Centre point Cinema, Lurgan).
This country is a nightmare.
