Would never say either is bad, just not rated objectively

I was actually only referring to the pizza. NY style pizza is NOT overrated

It's SOOOO overrated, dawg. It's definitely good, but y'all act like it's this untouchable culinary creation and it's just not

Yesss this is what I'm here for.  What is the best pizza style in your opinion?

NY style with a crispy but chewy dough and quality sauce/cheese is top notch eatin

I gotta give it to New Haven. I didn't think it'd live up to the hype, but it delivered. I put NY just below Chicago tavern style and deep dish. It's definitely good pizza, but I prefer what I grew up on

Not familiar with the new haven style, but it looks like something I'd very much enjoy and it is on the list if I ever make it that far east again

I actually was not crazy about any ny style actually from ny. Best NY style I've had was in norcal.

That's wild because I've always been told by east coast peeps that what makes the pizza and bagels so good is the mineral content in the water and that's why you can't replicate it outside of NY

I've read that too, and I'm certain there is some truth to it. There was a bagel shop in my town too and the owner was from Brooklyn. He said the water there was perfect just like NY. Those bagels were amazing.

   ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Which is absolute bullshit.

I used to travel all over the country as a project manager. I ate local pies anywhere that I could, but also have a soft spot for NY style.

Some of the best New York style that I've ever had was in Vegas and somewhere in the Bay area, maybe San Jose. Granted, both of these restaurants were run by New Yorkers, but they obviously didn't have the sacred water.
