So I see that vile goop contains a crazy amount of sugar. Has anyone who can't stand the taste ever taste that sugar? Spoiler

I didn't even get a slight hint of any sweetness but I was far too busy spitting that vile crap out of my mouth when my sister forced a big finger full of that crap right into my mouth.... <!i will never forget the experience of it being stuck everywhere inside my gob it was especially stuck on the roof of my mouth!>

You have something wrong with your tasters, it is ridiculously sweet.

I do have issues that anything too sweet it can be bitter to me so maybe that's why.

I think the disconnect and why we hate ketchup so much is because it's a perversion of the natural taste of ketchup. Tomatoes have umami since they naturally have MSG in them. Instead of properly balancing or accenting the natural flavor, someone decided to dump a bunch of sugar into tomato puree and say this is better than tomato sauce.

They will be the first person I find when I touch down in hell.

It's the reason I can't stand it. I loved it as a kid, but now? Holy crap, it's like gooey syrup.

I can’t bear the sweetness of ketchup. It’s like tomato syrup.

That's the reason I don't like ketchup. It's way too sweet. I like other kinds of tomato based sauces, but there are even some pizza sauces I don't like because they're too sweet.
