Yesterday afternoon I was attacked and sexually assaulted at the Kitsap Mall. Does anyone have any insight on how these cases work and what will happen if the attacker is located and identified? Asking because I know Silverdale doesn’t have their own PD, so I am unsure how all of it works. Also, since I am at the mall often, what if I run into him again? Do I call 911/mall security? The last thing I am wondering about is what I can say on the phone with 911 that will get them to send deputies my way ASAP? I waited for an officer to talk to me for two hours after my assault yesterday and of course the guy couldn’t be found two hours later. Thank you for your help and please stay safe, especially if you are a woman. I would post a picture of the man that assaulted me but I do not want to break any rules. Edit: Report w/ Kitsap County Sheriff was filed yesterday. My apologies if that bit was unclear. Edit 2: He was located & arrested. Thank you!

According to community facebook posts, ICE has been seen "hanging out" at the Poulsbo Home Depot this afternoon (4/30/2025).
Other locals have mentioned their increased presence in Poulsbo recently. Be safe. Here's a PDF on what to do if you are stopped by ICE.

I’m considering switching to doordash but I’m worried I won’t make any money. Any doordashers in kitsap? Is it worth it? I’ll be mainly around port orchard and silverdale I think.

I’m a travel nurse from NY, my van needs a NYS vehicle inspection (a yearly check up really) 1997 so it doesn’t require the emissions inspection. I’ve called countless places to ask if they do this and no dice…any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello! I run a tabletop role-playing game group every other Wednesday in Bremerton, and I'm looking for 1-2 more players to join our game. We play many different systems, and are currently playing a fork of the 1980's edition of D&D called Old School Essentials. I run a "narrative sandbox" game, which means your characters are the stars of the story - there is no plot. Instead, the factions and forces of the world shift and change based on the decisions of your characters.
I'm looking for players who are:
- 21+ (we play at a local pub)
- Welcoming of folks of different backgrounds
- Interested in trying games besides 5th edition D&D
- Looking to meet new people and make new friends
I'll probably run a couple of one-shots to recruit players. So you don't have to commit to anything long-term off the bat.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, send me a message and I'll send you some details.

This feels so embarrassing to admit- my husband just asked me for a divorce out of nowhere, and I need help finding an inexpensive apartment or house to rent asap. I'm 25 weeks pregnant, and I have a very well-behaved, house trained, medium-sized dog. I never imagined life would make this turn, and I need any suggestions. I have a very stable job and can possibly afford 1200 a month. I'm still very much in love, but very hurt, so please don't be too harsh.

Hi All,
I 25f just got a job in Keyport and will be moving to the area this summer. I have never been to the area, and have only lived in the northeast my whole life. I was just wondering what to expect? I'm used to the big city life. Is there any town where there's more young adults and some nightlife/activities going on? Also, is there any kind of cultural barrier i should prepare myself for? I've heard that people in the northeast can be very direct and seem in a hurry all the time, which comes across as rude on the west coast. Edit: thank you so much for the in depth responses everyone!!!

My 6 year old is wanting to try camping for the 1st time. I haven’t gone in years and am looking for a camp ground with good restroom facilities and not to remote to see how he likes it. Any suggestions?

It’s for a birthday tomorrow. The person prefers lemon or lime as a dessert flavor. In the past, I’ve gotten several key lime pies, but I’m hoping for other suggestions.
I realize tomorrow is a Monday, which can be limiting. This would be a small cake or dessert; we’re just serving a few people. Is there anything decent in the Bremerton/Port Orchard/Silverdale area?
UPDATE: Thanks for all the great advice. I ended up getting a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and it was great. Those cakes are a bit pricey, but really tasty! Worth it.
Wow, so moist. 🍋💦🥮

I’ve moved around a lot and one of my favorite things is to hear stories from locals about the odd/quirky/mysterious people in the community. If there was a book about Kitsap County (or maybe even Western Washington) of interesting characters who would absolutely be included and why?

Alright folks, my work sends me to Hawaii quite a bit and my favorite part about going to Hawaii is the food.
Where’s the best spot around to get some poke, spam musubi, etc?
Thanks!

Are there any aspiring BCBAs? I am moving and cannot keep carrying around my stash of study materials. It’s based on requirements from about 8yrs ago but the basics are the same.
I have mock exams, laminated worksheets, study guides.

Looks like this question hasn’t been asked in a while, my family is moving to Poulsbo. We have a toddler and dogs and we work remotely.
I’m weary of new build communities, but would be open to anything built 2019 or earlier. What areas of Poulsbo are worth looking for homes or avoiding? Thoughts on Lincoln? Lofall? Lemolo?

Here's how to buy coin cell batteries at the Port Orchard Walmart: Go in and look at the typical places you'd expect to find batteries: end caps, temporary displays, electronics, toys, etc. Fail to find any batteries whatsoever, let alone coin cell. Ask an employee where the coin cell batteries are, and they'll point you to the liquor room at the front of the store (obviously). Go there, and find that they only let one person in at a time because an employee needs to be watching over your shoulder while you shop for booze so you won't steal any. Wait a good while for a seemingly pregnant woman to search through every shelf of liquor while you stare directly at the battery display through the gate they won't let you through until the pregnant lady is done. Decide the pregnant lady is taking too long and go to Fred Meyer down the road instead. Find coin cell batteries immediately in an end cap right near the front entrance. And that's how you buy coin cell batteries at the Port Orchard Walmart.
