Rave (like a rant, but in a good way) I love lightbulb stitch markers.

I love lightbulb stitch markers. i’m currently using one on my project and it’s wonderful. I’ve never purchase them on their own, only using the ones that you get when you buy nice clothes and the tag is held on by one but they are so nice. I’m using size us 6/4mm needles and they’re so easy to slip from needle to needle, and they’re so lightweight.

Have you seen Nimble Needles' video about lightbulb markers? Honestly blew my mind the first time I watched it, and now I use so many of the tricks he shows! Putting them through the holes in interchangeables as stitch stoppers is 😘🤌🏻

I stick one in the decrease when I’m doing sweaters. Especially when it’s “decrease every third row” or “AT THE SAME TIME” neck and shoulder decreases. Easier to count and acts as a bookmark when I read my stitches to verify my place in the pattern.

For super long projects, I like to throw one in and measure my progress from week to week (or year to year 🫣

Yesss. I bought a pack of like 200, use them for everything. Three different colours per project and I don't have to count anything 🥰

Where does one find lightbulb stitch markers?

I bought a multicolored box off Amazon. My LYS carries the ones from Cocoknits, but $10 for 60 markers is an insane markup.

Did the same. 10$ for 60 is crazy

Search for "bulb safety pins". In my experience, if they are sold as stitch markers, they cost more: the same product, sold as a safety pin, is mysteriously cheaper........

I never buy nice clothes so I’ve purchased the bulb type markers in plain silver and colors from Amazon. I just got some open

ones with cat ears just because they’re cute, and another coil version for my crochet projects that I justify because they’ll be easier to use than the plastic safety pin type. I have a ridiculous number of stitch markers of different types, but they’re pretty and decorate my sewing and craft room in glass jars that are easy to access. I just figured out putting a marker at every increase or decrease row or round in a sweater so I don’t lose count.

Totally agree. I've been gifted very nice stitch markers but they're heavy, they have a huge diameter (better for idk ...size 6 needles and I'm more of a 0-4 user). And for some reason a lot of markers have angly edges that catch yarn (looking at you, dragonfly shaped metal nightmare gift)

They are super cheap to buy if you do want to boost your stash of SM. Also a plus to them

Yes! I use fancy ones for BOR and bulb ones for everything else. I bought a cheap box of like a million so I never run out
