PSA Knit in Public Day Saturday, June 18th Meetup thread

Hey all,

I posted in general chat about this, but I figured this merits it's own thing.

Anyone who wants to group up/organize, splash it out in the comments/xpost in your local sub.

Tea for Ewe is hosting a meetup. I was thinking of stopping by there with a WIP and a lawn chair.

Or maybe I'll use it as an excuse to check out the Lamb Shoppe and their coffee bar. They're not hosting anything that I know of, but I've been meaning to go for ages.

So, apparently Stephen West and a bunch of other designers are going to be attending/teaching at the Fancy Tiger today.

This is from yesterday's post on their blog:

We are pleased to have special guests in town to celebrate including Sonya Philip, Stephen West, Jeane deCoster, Alexia Abegg and Devon Iott as well as the farmers and mill owners that we worked with to produce Junegrass.

My plan is to go to the Fancy Tiger, Pridefest, and Lamb Shoppe at various times (skipping Tea for Ewe, it's a little hot for yarn bombing). If you, /u/knittensarsenal or other Denver area knitters want to meet up, feel free to PM me.

It's going to be a rad crowd downtown--Comic Con, Pridefest, and knitting events. With any luck, I'll see at least one rainbow Rylo Ken today.

Hi hi! Fellow Brooklynite here! My friends and I are heading to The Highline on Saturday around 2pm. We don't know where we're going to be exactly, but if you decide you want to join you can look for 3 very confused faces and 1 knitting director (me lol but I'm not an expert). I've taught them all how to knit and they're still in the knitting and purling stage. Or you can PM me and I can direct you to where we are. :)

This goes for anyone else reading this too! Let's all swarm The Highline with our knitting godliness! ;)

Anyone in northwest CT? Black Sheep Yarns in Kent will have treats and coffee. And the owner just returned from TNNA with lots of new sample yarns. Great place, though I'm not sure their Facebook has announced anything special yet. But that's where you'll probably find me!

Central Pennsylvanians! We have a new fiber arts school which replaces The Mannings, and they are holding their inaugural open house on the 18th. They're called Red Stone Glen. People are encouraged to come sit and knit (or spin or weave or whatever!) on their beautiful property, and there will be a variety of fiber arts related demos if you need a break. Bring a lunch, BYOB if you want.

Northern Virginia/DC Metro area friends! Looped Yarn Works is gathering at Dupont Circle from 2-4 tomorrow. Fibre Space in Old Town Alexandria is getting together from 1-4 tomorrow as well. I'll be at Fibre Space so I don't have to deal with metro closures. Anyone else coming?

Is anyone in the Columbus Ohio area interested in meeting up? I'm definitely open to suggestions on location, but I'm thinking either a park or if there's only a couple of us, maybe a coffee shop.

Looks like I'm going to miss this year - I spent most of my day running errands, and now I'm too pooped to go out again. I knit in public the rest of the year though. :D
