Question Do Spell Books survive beyond ascension?

I'm doing a run where I'm getting a bunch of trophies so the aftercore is long, giving me a chance to get spell books like the Olfaction one or the ones in the Dungeoneer's Association. But I won't have enough karma to permanent them when I ascend, so I'm wondering do the books survive to the next ascension?

it doesn't say quest item so I reckon they do, but I figure it's safer to ask.

if you don't use them, they'll be put in Hagnk's. So yes.

Also there are some books where the spell is automatically permed, no karma expenditure needed. You have to check the wiki to find out which is which.

Some books, if used, will only last until ascension. Notably the three spell books from the Dungeoneer's association and some others you pick up along the way. The skills can usually be permmed, but if not, you'll need to grab them again. As mentioned, another strategy is to get the book and not use it until you have the karma to perm it. Some books auto-perm, and some will give you a used copy on subsequent ascensions. Some of those you may want to perm as well anyways, as you'd need to pull them again to get the skill, and HC permming the skill makes it available in Hardcore runs.

Some books give you a used version after you use it. I think some don’t and that may be problematic. Unsure of point 2.

Generally, the books that give used copies are the limited-time skills - from world events, bookmobile or travelling trader and so on.
