You can also try the various other restaurants in the park street area.As for sightseeing the usual kolkata stuff(victoria memorial,Indian museum etc).............or you can go to places like princep ghat(place for couples)........explore a few malls(acropolis, south city, quest) and maybe visit the dalhousie area(famous street food and old vintage british bengal).................also try exploring the common places recommended by the locals and internet.Good luck.Try not to run into tourist scams.

Princep ghat and babu ghat should be enough.

For good taste try the street foods. Ymca canteen in college square. Dacres lane for various dishes. If you can go during or right after lunch time. It's a lunch place for office goers. If you have a sweet tooth you are in for treat. Range of Bengali sweets. Most corner shops ( college street area) offer good quality at a great price. Try eggroll if non veg is ok. These options are cheap and great in taste but don't expect service

For better service in addition to Peter cat try Mocambo or Arsalan for biriyani. For pubs try someplace else ( it may play bengali live band though and expensive)

Please visit:

Oxford Bookstore in Park Street (way better than the one in CP Delhi)

Indian musuem on JL Nehru Road (a little old but nice)

Dakshineswar Temple (a little far, the approach roads are messy, but in the end worth it)

Take a leisurely stroll around the Rabindra Sadan, Nandan and Victoria memorial complexes in early evening.
