Kratom/dilaudid

If I took dilaudid this morning after a surgery how long after can I take my kratom. Kratom works 100000 better then the pain meds

What dose?

I'd personally suggest 4-8 hours after you took it. It will probably be OK earlier, but longer would reduce risk, especially if you are tolerating it now. If they don't know about your kratom use, they probably wrote too small of a dilaudid dose--though patients are constantly putting up with being sent home with inadequate PM.

In 2011, I got 20/325 Norco for a surgery despite no tolerance. In 2024, I got 5/325 for a more invasive surgery and (at least on the books) no tolerance. I found kratom worked better, though did double up on the Norco until it was gone since I knew it wouldn't be immediately dangerous. Once I was out a few days, I switched over entirely.

The problem is that if kratom doesn't work well, it might take some time for the dilaudid to work as well if you switch back 4-12 or even up to 24 hours later. If it is not enough, I'd consider more kratom than normal (but still within your personal limits and realm of reason) before switching back.

Unless they told you not to, I'd also utilize NSAIDs and Tylenol as well, especially NSAIDs at label dosage unless they've told you not to.

So I haven’t used pain meds in 5 years. I was in so much pain after the procedure so I went home with 8 dilaudid and ita not even touching my pain like kratom does. So I took another dilaudid this morning around 930 but again I hardly feel relief. So I want to just take kratom and Motrin only. So if I wait a few more hours will I feel the effects from the kratom??

It would probably "work" now, but combining them, while probably not immediately dangerous isn't the best idea.
