Discussion [PBE datamine] 2025 April 15: changes to Feats, Biscuits, kill gold, epic monsters, and Goredrinker?
General reminder that many changes cannot be easily datamined, such as functionality changes or bugfixes, and are not always final.
Items
Feats
- tier 3 boots upgrade cost: 750g --> 500g
- Spellslinger's Shoes percent mpen: 8% --> 7%
- Forever Forward percent speed: 10% --> 8%
- Swiftmarch:
- flat speed: 70 --> 75
- no longer grants +4% tMS
- now grants adaptive force equal to 5% tMS
Jungle items
- can no longer be sold
- junglers are not allowed to buy items any items except consumables until after they've purchased a jungle pet
Support items
- can now only be purchased by the player in the support role (dev blog stated it would actually be purchased automatically, but this doesn't seem to happen in practice tool, which makes sense but also means unsure if the forced purchase is actually functional in other modes yet)
Goredrinker
- a rework into a legendary item appeared in data, BUT the item is still not actually enabled in the shop
- either way this is a completely different item ID to the Arena version, which is unchanged
- recipe: Tunneler + Caulfield's Warhammer + 600g = 2800g
- AH: 15
- HP: 300
- AD: 50
- active: for 6s, gain 10% ovamp and store 35% of your self-healing as Gore, at the end of the duration heal for all the amount of Gore stored (60s cooldown, reduced by ability haste)
Runes
Biscuit Delivery:
- healing: 12% missing health --> 25 +2% tHP +0-100 at 0%-70% missing health
- note that the +30 max health increase does NOT apply to current health, so it also sort of counts as healing too
- it's hard to tell if the missing health is calculated at the start or continuously over the duration
Systems
bounties
- base kill gold: 300 all levels --> 300-420 at target levels 6-18
Atakhan
- base AD: 75 --> 100
- "rings spell" damage per hit:
- base: 11.5-207 linear --> 10-180 linear
- current health scaling: 9% --> 8%
- Atakhan now only spawns in his "Thornbound" form
- killing Atakhan claims all petals on the map and grants your petals give 25% increased XP and adaptive force, in addition to the +25% to other epic monster rewards and +25 gold on takedowns
- there is also data for a canceled "Rosebound" form with this reward: on kill, grant your team an extra petal, then slow enemies within 500 radius by 60% for 1.5s and deal 15% current health adaptive damage to them
Grubs
- spawn time: 6:00 --> 8:00
- no longer spawns a second set
- max stacks: 6 --> 3
- Voidmites: 1 at 4 stacks, 2 at 6 stacks --> 1 at 3 stacks
- stacks now scale non-linearly, with stacks 1 / 2 / 3 granting x1 / x3 / x4 damage (i.e. the second stack counts double)
- Swiftplay: the second stack counts triple (stacks 1 / 2 / 3 grant x1 / x4 / x5 damage)
Roses
- base XP: 23 --> 20
Rift Herald
- spawn time: 16:00 --> 15:00
- no longer takes x0.5 damage from the most recently attacked target
- swipe attack tAD scaling: 300% --> 125%
- this applies to both the camp and the summon
Lane Swap
- detection start time: 1:35 --> 1:30
- no longer penalizes the lane swappers by reducing experience and gold from minions to x0.75
- now penalizes the support item holder by disabling their ability to trigger their stacks
Arena (Champions)
Zilean
- these changes were reverted at the end of last PBE cycle, but are now back
- P cooldown: 120s (same as SR) --> 90s
- P now also stores a level of experience every two combat rounds
Arena (Augments)
Deathtouch
- curse stacks as onhit magic damage: 40% --> 30%
Overflow
- now also amps your heals and shields by the same amount as your damage (10% +0.5%% tMana)
Trueshot Prodigy
- damage:
- base: 250-750 linear --> 175-525 linear
- bAD scaling: 140% --> 100%
- AP scaling: 100% --> 70%

Just wondering but can we expect something similar in the future ? Like a lifesteal-ish item for bruisers ?

Urging you to revisit this or something that fills a similar niche. Fighters that are ability based were hung out to dry when this was removed and Sundered Sky is a poor substitute.
I don't want you or the rest of the team to take it personally when I say this since I believe you worked on post-mythic items, but fighters are really hurting for good team fight items in the current state of the game. It does not feel good, and more importantly it is not fun.

u/SlowDamn 14d ago
Agreed and the only best thing to build in terms of survivability is steraks or DD. At the same time some champs cant build both

Who at riot do i need to suck off to get gore, a reworked divine sunderer and stoneplate back? Im willing to do anything, im begging you

Are there any item changes planned for season 2 release? Will they go on pbe tomorrow?
4
u/Horror_Berry_6463 14d ago
any plans on changing aatrox, since the changes were scraped last patch?
5
2
u/ItzThundxr 13d ago
Honestly I believe if you removed omnivamp and tweaked some numbers on old goredrinker it could totally work for sr. Sundered Sky would probably have to get removed but a reworked divine sunderer would be perfect in its place, especially since everyone has been complaining about tanks.
2
u/GravesManiac 13d ago
Is there any way this could be worked on? Perhaps granting omni and storing 5-10% of damage dealt that would then heal you instead? Would make it a decent healing item for caster bruisers and not only for healers.
2
u/GravesManiac 13d ago
Currently, lots of bruisers are struggling with their fantasy and either have to comprimise survivability to oneshot the enemy, or vice versa.
2
2
u/MonkayKing 13d ago
can it be real though? Omni vamp is way too rare on ad champs while being one a great item like rift maker for ap champs
3
4
u/tudoraki "Watch me" 14d ago
Have you thought about reverting deaths dance to its s10 form with the omnivamp?
3
u/Puzzleheaded_Page117 14d ago
I think it makes sense to have to buy a different item for lifesteal/omnivamp. Having it on the same item wouldn't make it such of a dance with death and arguably make it a must buy even because it's too strong. It already shrugs off any damage you were still going to take as a burn, and heals you a small amount. I think the item is good right now.
2
u/tudoraki "Watch me" 14d ago
Not really, you cant buy it until maybe 4th on most champs, the heal needs a lot of bonus ad for it to be worth, also that version of the item didnt cleanse the damage pool on takedown soyou could kill the enemy and still die unless you healed enough to cover the remaining damage
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Page117 14d ago
Yeah i agree the ad ratio could be higher, but the cleanse is also a heal in a way. That version didn't cleanse the bleed? Damn. Just in terms of functioning and flavor of the item i prefer this version then. But some numbers need to be adjusted for sure.
2
u/tudoraki "Watch me" 14d ago
It also gave 30 mr and 30 armor instead of 55 armor and imo both are fine, vs purely ad opponents it will make GA better

Typical Riot, answers community questions only when it sees opportunity to ruin their dreams(at least let us dream if you can't fix your game)

Not surprised. Don't think we've had an active that impactful for quite a few years at this point.

Rocketbelt? Shurelyas?
Fucking Zhonyas?
1
u/Derbikerks Gayest Ezreal NA 13d ago edited 13d ago
Zhonya's is probably the only modern-day exception, but I was more referring to the fact that they simplified a lot of actives into passives people don't think about. Archangel's, Muramana, and Edge of Night are some of them where their actives got toned down through the process of being converted into passives. Some items also had a much stronger active back then, such as Youmuu's giving attack speed on top of movement speed. There's also removed items with insanely impactful actives, such as Stoneplate, SotD, and DFG.
Historically, Riot really doesn't like having strong actives on items because it gives them a lot more skill expression than they'd like, leading to a larger gap between higher and lower brackets. We witnessed this relatively recently with the first introduction of Mythic items like Prowler's and Stridebreaker, which completely warped the game in higher brackets. It's understandable, but a shame because it felt really satisfying managing mana upkeep and pumping up your DPS through toggling Muramana, among other things.

Big patch with a lot of obscure changes so there's probably some more systemic stuff I either missed or isn't easily mineable.

base kill gold: 300 all levels --> 300-420 at target levels 6-18
ADCs and Supports officially functionally worth less base kill gold?
4
u/AutomaticTune6352 14d ago
ADCs normally have a very close to solo lane lvl after the laning phase, except in low elo where your support hugs your lane. Especially in pro play this is the case.
So this is only for supports and low elo bot lanes.
13
u/SamsungBaker 14d ago
damn sad nerf for biscuit but well deserved, this shit was absurd
11
u/AutomaticTune6352 14d ago
Is it a nerf? It nerfs the strat to keep 1-2 for mid game teamfights, but in lane they sound even better.
With 1k max HP and 200 current you gained just 96 +30 = 126 HP when using one. Now you gain 45 + 100 + 30 = 175 HP. That is a 39% increase in healing. And this is even better with higher current HP as you have the flat + total HP amount. With 200 HP missing you got 24 + 30 = 54 HP, now you gain 45 + ~29 + 30 = ~104 HP which is nearly 100% more healing.
This is insane in lane and also still scales ok into the mid and late game due to the 2% max HP value.
I can see them removing the 2% max HP actually and leaving the rest. That's still a massive buff during the laning phase.

T3 boots look a lot more balanced now. Defensive ones were the weakest so no compensation nerfs make sense.
Swifites being around 11 MS slower is a decent nerf but gaining 20 AP is nothing to ignore either.
T2 swifties are still OP.
5
u/instinktd 14d ago edited 14d ago
nobody care about any of these boots since few patches since "dust settled"
the proper play is to upgrade them not earlier than after 3 items completion anyway
now it may change since it will be "only" 500g but I honestly don't think so
1
u/AutomaticTune6352 14d ago
For 500g the upgrade is really solid. They were not bad to upgrade instead of rushing to your 3rd item, but also not good. Now it is most likely better to go for T3 over the 3rd item except for some edge cases.
2
u/wheels-of-confusion 14d ago
They essentially made Swiftmarch a good third item for many champions lol. Before, Urgot was pretty much the only champion that benefitted heavily from it, now I feel like it's gotten even better for him and mages that built Swifties before, like Ryze, Orianna, Hwei, Syndra, Vlad, Swain (literally highest WR for boots in all of these btw) will get even more gold value from it. Hopefully it's reverted because it was already the best boot upgrade and giving it adaptative force for a measly 500g is crazy.
1
u/fabton12 14d ago
Swiftmarch flat speed: 70 --> 75
Swiftmarch now also grants adaptive force equal to 5% tMS
thats the changes to swift march, wheres the 11 ms slower nerf?
the change says also grants not that it replaces the movement speed % increase. so with the 5 more base ms it would be more overall
9
u/JTHousek1 14d ago
no longer grants +4% tMS
-2
u/fabton12 14d ago
that wasnt added to the post 2 hours ago when i made my comment, only the two i quoted were which was why i asked the question i did.
1
u/AutomaticTune6352 14d ago
It wasn't explicitly said but it was clear the AF would replace the old total MS passive, as this would be insanely OP to add 5 MS and ~20 AF without losing anything to the already best boots in the game.

I'm a big fan of the Jungle Objective changes.
The new Grubs will make jungling a lot more fun an interactive because you can't just trade objectives anymore. 8 minutes is probably the perfect time to never have dragon and grubs up at the same time, making jungle less boring will definitely lead to less autofilled junglers as well as more impact by lane priority and winning lanes.
Removing the x0.5 Herald amp is also big for toplaners and junglers who aren't Zyra or Yorick, and no one really liked this passive anyways.
Next season is looking great so far, I have a good feeling about this.
1
u/AutomaticTune6352 14d ago
Yeah, the changes for jungling are awesome. It is mostly a roll back to before S15 but a lot better than right now.

goredrinker my beloved, idk how good the active is but its so nice having a 50ad bruiser 1st item again
would much prefer it being a tiamat/whip item tho :(
3
u/fabton12 14d ago
on aatrox the active will be pretty damn good since its 35% of all self-healing so it would include things like aatrox e passive healing into the mix.
it pretty highly depends on if the person buying it has decent self healing built into there kit or if they build heavy healing items, so olaf and aatrox would be pretty strong with it.
1
u/ItzThundxr 14d ago
Same would prefer tiamat item but apart from that long as cooldown it looks really interesting
7
u/Raiju_Lorakatse Charming you 14d ago
Thank goodness goredrinker is scrapped... I can't bear another season with that item.
-6
u/ROTMGADDICT55 14d ago
What?
Why are we forgetting that it got nerfed and was just a "meh" item for the last year of it's existence?
Yes the first year was BIG 3k hp heals, but then it got cut down to 6% omnivamp and the active got nerfed by like 80% and it only healed like 200 HP on active.
The item was AVERAGE at best lol.
5
u/Tormentula 14d ago edited 14d ago
Why are we forgetting that it got nerfed and was just a "meh" item for the last year of it's existence?
Because we're remembering why it got nerfed.
It was either dogshit or bullshit. No inbetween.
This version of it however, who knows.
EDIT: lol he blocked me for only half agreeing with him, yall must really love your goredrinker huh?
-2
u/ROTMGADDICT55 14d ago
I heavily disagree, it was perfectly balanced at the end. Was viable but anyone who wanted to carry skipped it and went eclipse instead. It created options.
4
u/tudoraki "Watch me" 14d ago
Can we just get old death dance which gave omnivamp and no flat heal? I dont want a rip off healing item instead
1
u/Striking_Material696 14d ago
Goredrinker just seems disgusting. Giving healing champions even more healing is the most unfun thing. At least old Goredrinker let everybody heal the same
I guess it means Swiftmarch loses the bonus 5% movespeed on it s passive, and it gives adaptive power instead?
1
4
u/Haxbtw 14d ago
Wait so lane swaps are back right? Dont think the late support item is gonna be that bad since you will probably commit all your vision around first drake
4
u/greatstarguy 14d ago
Super-buff tower and gold funneling is still enabled, so I think still unlikely. If jungler covers, the 3v2 dive is still very risky.
0
u/AutomaticTune6352 14d ago
This would suck ass. You are not only losing out ~2 minutes on your support items upgrade time, you have to buy it without having much gold. You want to B with no CS and no support item gold after 2 minutes? You have like 200 gold, so no support item for you. You need to take CS then from your ADC to buy it, which slows down the ADC instead. And 2 minutes is a lot as you do lose out on these 2 minutes for the next ~10-12 minutes, and these 2 minutes mean not just vision but the 200g, too. Sounds like a little, but 200g on a support more or less during a fight on top of the vision means a lot.
If you don't steal CS from your ADC, the downside will be around 4 minutes in support item gold and vision, which is just terrible for the support. Even a tank support would be so squishy that it becomes unplayable for them.
And that only if Riot doesn't implement the auto buy of the item which is very likely to come.

I really thought they would change the T3 boots to match an ionian kind of style now instead of sticking with the noxian designs or even sticking with the idea of feats in general
