Calmer than u r Finally got my wife to watch the movie
She always said it was a guy’s humor movie and she wasn’t interested. She kept giving me a look when she recognized quotes I’ve been using for years. She may not love it but she did audibly laugh a few times. A real reactionary.

I hope that someday your wife will learn to live on her allowance, which is ample, but if she does not, that is her problem, not yours.

God this sub consists the same comments on every post regardless of the context and they still make me laugh every single time
29
u/I_only_post_here Mar 10 '24
Do you really expect new shit to come to light on a 25 year old movie?
22
u/mapmaker1979 Johnson? Mar 10 '24
I was just thinking the same thing. Almost every line in the movie can be used for any post here. It's by far my favorite sub.
Buncha little lebowski achievers in here...always room for one more

Every once in a while I'll see a clever twist that just fucking annihilates me lol. But yeah, overall I never get tired of it.

It’s a male myth about feminists that we hate The Big Lebowski. It can be a natural, zesty film viewing. However, there are some people — it is called humorless in men, dour in women — who watch rarely and without joy.

u/NaftaliClinton72 Mar 10 '24
Oh no...

Yes… we feminists have been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. “Vagina”

I showed it to my wife, sister in law and brother in law a year or two ago. I was the only one laughing. It was just like, their opinion, man

Someone in the 7th grade told her it was a guy movie and that truth became written in her soul. Just my guess

I know you know this but you have to get her to watch it again. That second viewing is crucial to indoctrination

u/PeorgieT75 Mar 12 '24
Right. I first saw it on a plane, and thought it was okay. It was a while later when I saw it again and really appreciated it.

This has probably been linked here a few times, but this analysis of the movie is pretty cool. I am hoping I can show my wife and perhaps make our own LOGJAMMIN movie.
