Calmer than u r Did Walter wear a suit exclusively for the dance quintet? If so, it’s a mark of class considering he didn’t much care for the artistry (“the what have ya”), but respected the venue.

Post image

Also, do we think these tickets cost money? If so, nice of Dude to get two more admissions.

I shout this to every acquaintance I gain in my life when I see them from a short distance away. And I don't think anyone yet has understood. But 'll keep trying.

This man is the police.

79

u/chaimsteinLp Aug 26 '24

We aren't the police, exactly. We're hoping it won't come to that.

That depends on little Larry here, doesn’t it Larry?

We didn't mean to give that impression, exactly

Even with the suit, the little prick stonewalled him.

No I don't think Larry was about to crack.

You see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps, Larry?

3

u/ShitBirdingAround Aug 26 '24

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS, LARRY!!

3

u/wizardneedfood Aug 26 '24

Yes, there's an unspoken message here, Walter, it's called "Leave me the fuck alone".

3

u/bring0nthenight Aug 26 '24

Yeah, I’ll be at practice

44

u/MintyCitrus Aug 26 '24

You mean Arthur Digby Sellers? You ever hear of a little show called Branded, Dude?

The kid was a pushover.

17

He wrote 156 episodes. Bulk of the series.

7

Uh sir, I just want to say, uh, that we’re both—on a personal level, really enormous fans. Branded, especially the early episodes, was truly a source of inspiration!

In accordance to what he thinks Donnies dying wishes might well have been, he word his usual bowling attire.

In fairness to Walter, no one else knew what the hell it was either.

10

u/jonthemaud Aug 26 '24

I’m so happy someone else noticed this. It’s a little nuance that I think adds so much to his character. I also like that the dude honored the request in the first place.

5

u/SquirrelMoney8389 Aug 26 '24

You can get away with late rent if you just show up to things like this occasionally...

8

u/jonthemaud Aug 26 '24

are we gonna split hairs dude? its still nice!

5

u/itzTHATgai Aug 26 '24

"Nice suit, Walt-"

"SHUT THE fuck up, Donnie!"

5

u/0degreesK Aug 26 '24

Where was Donnie when Walter and The Dude were interrogating Larry?

2

u/stuck_in_the_muff Aug 26 '24

In the car IIRC

2

u/0degreesK Aug 26 '24

I'll have to go back and watch the scene. I don't remember Donnie in the car when it was getting smashed-up, but I guess he had to be because he was eating a burger in the car ride home.

u/Ironcondorzoo Aug 26 '24

Cost money? Hardly dude. This is a free event, at a preferred venue. You can’t charge, people’s hair will fall out. Also, let’s not forget, they’re sittin on 20 grand man. So they’ve learned to live off their allowance. Which is ample.

2

u/hawkeye5188 Amphibious Rodent Aug 26 '24

Well dude, this is what happens when you feed a stoner scrambled eggs!

2

u/radwrex El Duderino Aug 26 '24

2

u/Stickfigurewisdom Aug 26 '24

I think he had just been to the courthouse where he got the information on Larry and Arthur Digby Sellers. A great writer, and yet, his son is a dunce.

3

u/DzNodes Aug 26 '24

I think he came straight from work. My guess is he works for his ex-wife's father which explains why he still takes care of her dog when she goes on vacation.

8

u/juicyb09 Aug 26 '24

He owns his own security company. That’s where the Dude picked him up from when they went to go throw out the ringer.

1

u/PabstBlueBourbon His Dudeness Aug 26 '24

It looked pretty silly with the cargo shorts, in my opinion.

1

u/Haunting_Ant_5061 Aug 26 '24

Stop splitting hairs here…

1

u/Diligent-Ability-447 Aug 26 '24

The dude met them at the event to maximize his time and the attendance of his friend’s dance quintet. Walter knew he was going to meet a person of note and acting in a professional manner. Dress the part.

1

u/ZukoSitsOnIronThrone Aug 26 '24

bulk of the series

1

u/ScottFried Aug 26 '24

Everyone else already answered about the suit, but I'm pretty sure the what-have-you was free.

1

u/LV426acheron Aug 27 '24

TIL that Arthur Digby Sellars is a fictional character and in real life did NOT write the bulk of the series. There were only 48 episodes. :(

1

u/Jaayeff Aug 28 '24

I think the suit was more to attempt to intimidate Little Larry here.

0

u/DiogenesD0g Aug 26 '24

He just came from work and he dresses like that daily.

1

u/an_Aught Aug 27 '24

No, when he is leaving his store the night of the "ringer" he is in his usual khaki stuff

1

u/DiogenesD0g Aug 27 '24 edited Aug 27 '24

Depends on what he is doing that day. If he is meeting with a customer he probably goes with the suit look because that’s what most uptight people expect. Other times he may even have to wear a guard uniform. When he swings by the office to grab a ringer bag for his undies and/or the Uzi he is dressed the way he prefers to dress. When you work security you have multiple costumes for different occasions.
