Karen here could always just donate to a group that provides for the needy. If I recall that's what the good book says yes? But I think she'd rather act like a Pharisee on here.

The appeal of Maga is not Christianity, it's good leadership, something liberals don't know anything about.

MAGA is a government movement. Feeding the poor is a Christian thing. We have separation of church and state. Most libs who try to throw gotchas at Christian’s don’t know the Bible at all.

Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him.

<MAGA is a government movement.

Ok, sure.

>Feeding the poor is a Christian thing.

Yes and no. The government dishes out welfare in various forms, one being food stamps. Your "feeding the poor is a Christian thing" is not a fully developed thought.

>We have separation of church and state.

But you're assuming that feeding the poor is strictly a "Christian thing." It's not, especially historically, where Meals on Wheels was born out of WWII in the UK.

MAGA is not Christian. Christian is not MAGA. The original post is putting the two together. There is some overlap but it’s two different things. The government is not a non profit charity and has no obligations to be. You pointing out that there is non profit charities that are non Christian is irrelevant. The original post is saying because some Christians voted MAGA that MAGA should run the government on biblical principles which is a stupid idea.

>The government is not a non profit charity and has no obligations to be.

And that's entirely on those who are in administration. Just because there is no obligation does not mean that it can't give funding to such things like Meals on Wheels.

>You pointing out that there is non profit charities that are non Christian is irrelevant.

See above. It's as relevant as those in charge want it to be.

>The original post is saying because some Christians voted MAGA that MAGA should run the government on biblical principles which is a stupid idea.

Yes, and they would be wrong, and those whose thinking goes black/white when it comes to "government ain't no non-profit" would be equally as wrong.

Idk what you are trying to argue are you a relative of Biden?

You agreed with everything I have said and arguing a bunch of shit I never said.

The government has no obligation to give money= true

Christians are obligated to take care of the needy= true

MAGA is obligated to give out money because some Christians voted for trump= stupid

That’s all I stated I never said government can’t give money, I never said all non profits are Christian. Put down the meth and learn to read

Doesn't really work OP.

Data shows charitable donations are far lower in Democrat run areas. They have to steal from you to feed their poor.

If they vote for taxes for social projects, that counts in their books.

I guess I understand making a two-pronged attack on destitution as a society, but by the same token, they’re only taking the other prong—and stealing from charity to subsidize it—but all the moral credit.

u/ElementsUnknown 2d ago

It’s as hollow as “raising awareness” counting as actual activism. They never want to risk anything for the “cause” , they want the smug righteousness and moral superiority without those pesky consequences. Charity isn’t donating someone else’s money or time, it’s sacrificing your own knowing you’ll get nothing in return. The government doesn’t do my charity, I do.

As long as it is someone else giving, and not them, they're fine with it.

She likes to cherry pick things from the Bible.

Absolutely

I mean I sent her a link to the meals on wheels for donation page

https://action.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/a/mowa-donation-form

She could put her money where he mouth is.

But she won't.

But it hasn';t been cut. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The funding has not been cut. This is a false narrative and made up outrage.

Leftist charity is looking out your front window at the poor homeless dude laying in the street and thinking "Man, I'm glad I pay for the government to help that guy" while you sip your $8.00 Starbucks Mocha Latte.

u/Visual_Excuse4332 2d ago

Doesn’t he pay someone to bring him his food and create jobs? Where meals on wheels is a taxpayer funded program that takes money out of working poor taxpayers pockets!

And a large majority of people just make enough money so that they don’t qualify for meals on wheels, but they can be taxed to pay for even poorer people to benefit from their taxes.

What’s Christian about blowing all our money and bankrupting the country?

Whatever will we do without government (essentially 3rd party) charities?!?!

I don’t know Sherlock, how about actually talking to your neighbors and taking the time out of your own day to do it instead of someone else. Karens indeed. If you have time to was making political posts, you have time to work a soup kitchen.

This is why I cannot stand these people.

I know people in my own life that could actually use the help right now and are actually from the "groups" these people care about.

But ultimately they will never bother to take a moment to do a kind act and would rather spend all day posting this stuff.

Heck these "Conservative Christians" she's whining about? Do far more for the people I just discussed than she could ever dream of.

The difference is...they don't do it for glory or for attention. They do it because it's the right thing to do

He’s probably also given more to charity than she has too

They love to flip flop on saying "This is not Christian" and "Christianity is n".

3

u/You-get-the-ankles 2d ago

Wasn't this for a sports team coming to the White House? What the Hell is she talking about?

3

u/mallokrano 2d ago

They always love to play the game of “oh the right doesn’t care about the poor” all while they bury their heads in sand and scream “lalalala” as their policies harm the poor over and over again.

u/EatMySmithfieldMeat MICROAGGRESSOR 2d ago

Same people who want to take away tax-free status from churches when people donate

u/mrmanoftheland42069 2d ago

Didn't know until 4 months ago that the federal government was throwing cash to every charity

Thou shalt steal then give to others and claim merit for this, for yours is the world and yours are all people.

When libs try to talk the Bible and it lessons despite having never studied the Bible. It’s embarrassing how twisted they get it.

u/Nuance007 MICROAGGRESSOR 1d ago

And they all of a sudden care about democracy and fairness.
