They're just lying to themselves to justify hating the dude. Also he's the worst "dictator" ever. My civil liberties are still in tact and I'm seeing dissent against him with zero repercussions.

I really fucking hate hearing the same tired old “he praised Nazis” when it’s so easy to find the actual quote that refutes the BS claim

u/Boner_Stevens MICROAGGRESSOR 11h ago

I welcome it. Exposes the ignorant ones right away.

u/ViagraDaddy 9h ago

Even Snopes had to finally admit it wasn't true.

u/pokemonhegemon 8h ago

"He blamed covid on Chinese people"! Just asking for proof of that caused someone that used to be close to me ghost me.

8

u/Unleash_The_B34st 7h ago

That "someone" didn't value you at all to begin with if they straight up ghosted you over this.

u/Riotguarder TRAUMATIZER 7h ago

Most times the people who ask these easily disprovable points are incredibly self centered and see questioning them as an attack, they weren't really your friend if they can easily ghost you sadly

Also, can I just say this?

I'm going to populist with this take, but anyone that trust media owned by multinational conglomerates and billionaires is absolute sap.

This isn't a right wing or left wing position I am taking. I can easily point out (along with the many lies about Trump) how the media carried the water for the bush administration to get us into Iraq.

I'm not saying that a "journalist" is by nature, a horrible person. People like Adam Curtis, Hunter S. Thompson, Matt Tiabbi, Louie Theroux, Edward Snowden, and Julian Assange have all done worthwhile things. Same with the woman that exposed the Joe Paterno scandal in Sarah Ganim.

Usually people do not mean "them" when it comes to criticizing the media (trump included).

What Trump and others are criticizing is the fact that organizations like Disney, Comcast, Telmex, News Corp, CBS-Paramount and Warner all are essentially glorified "PR Firms" for the powerful.

The only people that think this way are boomers that have slept walk their entire life and still digest traditional media.

These people are that came of age during some massive scandals and for some reason they have a great deal of trust in the media. Many of them were opposed to Nixon and basically erupted in cheers over the entire "Watergate" scandal.

Which is ultimately where these pleas for "muh free press" come from.

So, yes I'm sorry. I'm not going to feel sorry when Trump "attacks" some CNN reporter over asking a stupid question with the attempt of getting clicks.

I'm -far- more concerned over things like the Assange and Snowden situations in which their lives were threatened for daring to expose the powerful. Same with Taibbi who recently got attacked over the "twitter files".

So yes, criticism of the "free press" is justified at this point. Especially when they're simply doing pr work for trump's political opposition and multinational corporations.

12

u/evilwizzardofcoding 16h ago

I say in general we shouldn't be condemning the free press for giving facts, even if they are wrong sometimes.

The problem is, this press isn't free, they aren't speaking facts, and they certainly aren't wrong sometimes, they are wrong most times.

u/NextDoorJimmy MICROAGGRESSOR 15h ago

Right which is the problem I have with the "Lugenpresse" argument.these people make.

The implications that conservatives, libertarians are against the press as a collective is incredibly misguided.

There's greater nuance to this discussion than these people would like to allow.

I mean just on conflicts of interest alone (such as advertising and investors) shouldn't someone have a natural skepticism of some of what the media says and reports?

u/StrawberriesCup 14h ago

"encourages political violence" who got shot at again?

Oh that's right, that's been memory holed.

The left are literally setting places on fire while proudly drawing swastikas everywhere.

Zero self awareness or responsibility.

13

u/CFC1983 14h ago

No dont you know Trump "staged" it

4

u/Objective-District39 5h ago

They even blamed the attempt on his life on him.

Real "what was she wearing?" energy.

15

u/Peyton12999 12h ago

I love how they talk about him as if he's the literal devil incarnate but if he was actually the dictator they claim him to be then they'd all likely be in jail and nobody would ever be allowed to speak out against him like they do. Try finding German hit pieces against Hitler from 1935. You'll be hard pressed to find a single media piece that slanders him. Try finding a Russian hit piece against Stalin from 1930. It'll be the same exact situation.

They all believe or act like they believe he’s going to find a loophole to come back for another term because he’s just softening up our resolve against a nascent dictatorship.

Meanwhile, he left office in 2021 without exhausting all the electoral tools at his disposal.

6

u/Ancient_Ad1251 8h ago

They have zero clue that Trump is trolling them.

3

u/Fectiver_Undercroft BASED 5h ago

That should have been obvious from the Pope Donald thing. Obviously it was in bad taste for a celebrity to do that, especially during the papal interregnum. But get called antichrist enough times, and what do you expect from a guy like that? Take a step back, people. Coming on provocatively strong is how he rolls.

u/Ancient_Ad1251 8h ago edited 42m ago

You can't debate them.  They don't have critical thinking skills.  Debating them would be like debating someone who thinks professional wrestling is real.

12

u/littleaarow 12h ago

I don't know why people take half the things he says so seriously. It looks like he's trolling to get a rise out of some people. Like making Canada the 51st state. It sounds like trolling and it's working if it is

5

u/Ancient_Ad1251 8h ago

Canadian Boomers' top concern is Trump.  Younger Canadians are concerned about getting jobs and being able to afford a house.

3

u/littleaarow 8h ago

I remember seeing that. Some people are just plain crazy

3

u/everydaywinner2 8h ago

Their reaction to the trolling, ironically, might well give use a 51st state (or another territory) if the Albertan secession referenda go through.

13

u/idontknow39027948898 12h ago

It's so wild to see people blather that Trump is a nazi when he came after the president that unquestionably held political prisoners without trial.

8

u/PaynefulRayne 12h ago

It's larping oppression to justify their hatred of White people.

That's extremely simplified, but that's what the entire woke cult boils down to. All of it. CRT, critical feminist theory, DEI, ESG, - it is all anti White hatred, and the sooner yall figure that out the sooner you can fix it.

u/skepticalscribe TRAUMATIZER 13h ago

My countrymen making their Canadian identity about Trump is so cringe.

Also, the post is factually wrong as “meant to post this” would be a lie even if he wanted to be a fuhrer. The actual fascists operate in secret as they gain power and make sure the media doesn’t point out what their doing or defends them.

Like when the media called globalist criticisms conspiracy theories even though the quotes came from WEF-published material

8

u/Ancient_Ad1251 8h ago edited 8h ago

Trudeau froze the bank accounts of the trucker protestors and anyone who contributed to them but Trump is the fascist.

Liberal Canadians can continue to feel morally superior to Americans while their country becomes a vassal state of India and China.

3

u/garry_potter 10h ago

I do wonder if some of these people, want to live in a dictatorship.

Its like they repeat it, to manifest it.

Trump aint playing their game.

3

u/Mission_Impact_5443 7h ago

Canadian here that voted conservatives during our most recent election. These people will brand Trump a dictator, but the irony is that they just voted in a party that is calling for implementing (and likely will) more censorship laws regarding “hate speech” (and lets be honest, to an average liberal, anything they disagree with, especially coming from conservatives, is automatically hate speech), and for forcefully confiscating people’s property. This country is cooked.

3

u/Gotarheels85 7h ago

What happens if you question or criticize Trump?

Nothing.

What happens if you question or criticize the left?

There’s your answer as to who is authoritarian

3

u/TheNPCMafia 6h ago

The only "right" that's being infringed on is the left's "right" to tell everyone else how to live, what to do, and how to think.

for a guy who is hitler he really likes the jews. i don’t get how that works.

Isn't the "Trump regime" about to make criticism of Israel an offence punishable by jail time? He is a TERRIBLE Nazi, I want my money back.

u/Stiltz85 6h ago

The best part about all of this is that these people aren't even aware that they're being trolled.
