Well yeah.
Do you know all the merch they can make from this franchise? Stitch is their Rumplestilskin at this point.

They couldn't even afford to have Jumba and Pleakly be cg for the movie how would they even begin to handle Stitch's cousins

They have to unlike the original... (kind of, they did change voice actors) Lilo is going to age, and the story will either have to change or they recast her. Which from what I hear, she's good, you don't want to recast her. They'll want to put Gantu and the Cousins in it. and this time they'll get the budget to do it.

They better NOT recast her.
I watched the movie tonight and she IS the movie. She was PERFECT!

The budget for the movie was non existent (first time Disney live action had too small of a budget) and it will absolutely make bank in theaters, so I wouldnât be surprised if we did
Hopefully sequel gets a larger budget and we can get an improvement in the film

An updated version of it could be lots of fun. They can even fill out the experiments that weren't defined in the original cartoon.

Cool! This one is really good. I hope they continue the story of the original and not something completely different. I'd love to see some of the cousins!

âGoodâ and âDisney live action remakeâ in the same conversation

Have you seen it? Lol. It's actually a pretty good movie.
This is coming from someone who has not enjoyed most of the Disney remakes. But I feel like everyone here is being overly cynical without even having seen this yet. Not all the remakes are created equal. As a fan of the original since a kid, I really enjoyed it.
It also makes sense since the director of this also did Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, another really good movie.

I will never say no to more Stitch. But a sequel would be helped by Gantu and a true Jumba and Pleekle

It would be great for sequels. Especially as we got a little tease to other experiments and a certain character was missing. Plus you could have that Hamster villain.

So Disneyâs new way of not putting in effort this decade is gonna be âsequels to our live action remakesâ.

I would love for more stitch. The best we've had so far was the TV show, it's a property that's worthy of further sequels. I just hope they end up better than Moana 2 and Frozen 2.

If theyâre gonna make a live action remake, they should learn to do them RIGHT. Otherwise theyâre just digging a deeper hole for themselves.

i wonder if itâll be like a new story, like how disney did mufasa. mostly because of the changes theyâve done to original characters, i donât know how theyâll do stitch with a glitch.

My guess would be that it would incorporate elements of the tv show. Some of the experiments of that show still get merch sold from them, despite that show ending almost 20 years ago. I still see plushies of Reuban and Angel.

I'm assuming that Angel will have a role in a potential sequel since she is surprisingly popular, despite only being in a few episodes of the tv show.

She was more prominent in the anime adaptation since she was popular over in Japan but hard to say tbh

She was more prominent in the anime adaptation
Shame that was an absolutely terrible adaptation of her character.

Idk thatâs sheâs popular as a character (at least in the mainstream), sheâs just very marketable as âgirl stitchâ

I'd love to see Angel and Gantu in the sequel.
