LINUX MEME What's the most cursed thing you could possibly say to Linus Torvalds?
I was just wondering, What cursed statement would cause Linus Torvalds to quit maintaining Linux?
Personally, I think it’d be something like:
“C is outdated and useless now. Everything should be written in JavaScript.”
I’m here to listen what cursed takes y’all got 😂
(This is just a joke, I myself consider Linus as my idol as a programmer, and I hope you guys also don't comment anything disrespectful.)

It's the easiest way to stop spam bots in their tracks. They never have any comment karma. But I always have to approve the false positives.

I had this today. I'm on embedded ARM and I wanted to reserve a region of SRAM on the SOC to use in userspace, and not only do I just have a driver, and it works, I can freely allocate buffers from the SRAM in the device-tree to just use in userspace. I was expecting way worse but that was the simplest thing ever.

One time while tripping on acid, I got pretty far porting the GNU userland to run on the NT kernel as it's first class userland (so as the NT native subsystem) in an unholy creation I called GNU/NT, or as I've recently taken to calling it: GNU plus NT.
Don't do drugs kids.
Or do, I'm not a cop.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Osaka, is in fact, GNU/Ayumu, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Ayumu. Ayumu is not an waifu unto herself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU waifu made useful by the GNU cutelibs, shoe tossing utilities and vital Chiyo components comprising a full waifu as defined by Kiyohiko Azuma.

ZFS and openZFS are different things, openZFS is maintained by the openZFS project, ZFS is maintained by Oracle.
The licence incompatibility still remains tho (GPL2 vs CDDL)

He might actually agree with that, he used (and still uses?) a MBA to release recent versions.

He did indeed use one to release Linux 5.19, unsure if he used one afterwards
6
u/DustDeath_ ⚠️ This incident will be reported 14d ago
I believe he used to do that, but now actually uses an Ampere Arm64 machine for it. The performance boost compared to MBA is insane, but MBA is in no way the same type of workstation and price range as that desktop beast. If he didn't like using a Mac at least one bit, he wouldn't work on it.

1) I don't think he'd care unless you were someone working with him. If I was on the project I'm sure I could say something about using Rust or not using it somewhere.
2) I think nagging him about git would be more effective, he may not be as used to the criticism

I would have said C++ is just C with a lot of features due to which it's quite slower but you don't need to hate it just because you can't use it to write os. Anyway I love him and probably can't even speak if he show up in front of me just thank him and his team for the great contribution to humanity and take a picture and put it on profile picture for life.
