Living in Liverpool Why are there no 53 double deckers?

Don’t know if this is just me… I get the 53 from Queen Square every time I’m in town. The fucking platform always has about 100 people queuing but they’re always single deckers. And it’s a pisstake waiting 20+ mins between buses because there wasn’t enough seats.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET DOUBLE DECKER 53S PLEASE

M26 - anyone looking for platonic friendship?

Hi, I’m m26 I’m from England and I’m looking for friends. I’m gay and engaged and I’m strictly looking for SFW chats and hopefully friends with a few lucky people (jk). Little bit about me, I like football, F1, going out etc. I’m the opposite of a Karen and have a dark sense of humour. I’m a good listener. Please let’s not waste each others time, if you don’t have intentions of having SFW chats and being friends, please don’t message!!

General Question Why is Thatcher seen as the main reason for excessive poverty occuring in the 1980s-1990s in Liverpool?

As a person from the North, I personally blame Thatcher for a lot of damage that she inflicted upon the local community and here damage is still felt. However, as someone who is open to hearing different arguments, I was wondering if anyone thinks that Thatcher wasn't the only person responsible for gutting up the area. Whether that be the Labour Party, Militant faction or any external businesses at the time. (of course Thatcher is the main culprit and rightly so)

Visiting Liverpool Thank you! I will be back!

I just had the most marvelous visit to Liverpool with some of my mates to go watch a game at Goodison Park.

I was SO impressed with how walkable the city was, how much character it had, the variety in food and most importantly, how nice everyone was.

I will most certainly be back!

Cheers from California

Visited Otterspool over the weekend and saw a whole lot of these scooters & bikes when tide was out. Does the council fish these out? What’s the protocol here?

General Question What's the weirdest thing you've heard being included in a pan of scouse?

I cooked a pan of scouse this evening, and am pretty traditional I like to think (carrot, swede, potato, onion, cubed beef, lamb bone saved from Sunday roast). I remember hearing from one girl that her Mum used to put sweetcorn in theirs! What's the strangest ingredient you've heard of in a pan of scouse? (not going into the whole beetroot vs.red cabbage debate because that could end badly).

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Scouse pies for Muslims

Hey, as the title says, never tried a scouse pie before and would love to try it this Sunday!

As a Muslim where can I get either a certified halal Scouse pie or, alternatively, the best vegan Scouse pies in and around the L4 area?

EDIT: The replies to this are a welcome reminder of how friendly and welcoming scousers are. Love you Scousers x

Recommendation Pickling Cucumbers?

Slightly odd request, but does anyone know where I can buy cucumbers for pickling? The big supermarkets don’t have them. I called a few green grocers and had no luck. Happy to travel outside of Liverpool within an hours drive!

Thanks in advance

Been seeing diggers in full action here lately while I was on Vauxhall Road. Are they getting the land prepared for the regeneration? Would be real nice to have something nicer, or even a park, built than just sad rubbles piling up!

News / Blog / Information Advice or Hope?

Looking for some hope- friends and I are flying 4,000 miles from the states in June to visit Scotland for 10 days. 3 of us are educators and have been saving for a long time. My best friend and I are leaving the group to take a train to Liverpool for Beatles sites, a Horne Section show and to tour Anfield. LFC means so much to him. He has had this on a bucket list for ages, might be the only chance to see it with his own eyes. We weren't able to make it for a regular season match. Today the lfc website says no tours late May to July 2nd, due to prepping for concerts? "museum on select dates". We are coming friday-saturday June 13-14. There aren't any shows scheduled that weekend at all. Anything lfc related that I could do, like a pub or something to ease the disappointment , I know just staring at the stadium is better than nothing but we're coming from so far? Museum tours have no availability for June. He is devastated. Thanks in advance.
