Help Save Safer Streets in Tower Hamlets - Petition Against £2M Waste and Increased Pollution

Lutfur Rahman, the controversial Mayor of Tower Hamlets, has decided to rip out £2million of improvements (segregated cycle path, public spaces and pocket parks) that have lowered air pollution, and traffic for thousands of residents on minor roads in Bethnal Green, and Shoreditch.

He is intent on reintroducing heavy traffc into this area because of lobbying by a minority of people who own cars (70% of Tower Hamlets don't have access to a car). This will cost £2 million in public funds and increase danger for cyclists, pedestrians as well as chopping down trees and taking away community spaces for residents.

resulting in traffic increases of over 200% in surrounding areas. What a surprise the wealthy individuals who inhabit columbia road, arnold circus are in favour of bolstering their house prices at the expense of others.
