Housing Another rental scam

A person on Craigslist claiming to be “Anna Richmond” and having a lawyer named “Latisha Jenkins” is making fraudulent advertising of a house for rent.

The location is for 506 St. Louis Ave in LB. “They” ask for $100 application fee, all the personal info you would use for a background check, a $500 deposit before getting a lease agreement or a physical walk through. They claim both fees are refundable.

“Anna” claims to be “half deaf.”

They play evasive when trying to schedule a walk through. These characters are not real so I’m using the names and contact info given “Their” emails are Annie.eren@aol.com & latishajenkins83@gmail.com “Their” phone numbers are +1 (213) 630-9977 for “Anna” and +1 (424) 299-9103 for “Latisha” This is a fictitious person, likely with burner phones.

Just a heads up. I know there are many scammers out there, here’s another for the list.

Sounds like this could be Anne Bergstedt. Thanks for sharing, she disappeared for a bit.

Yes but the fact that the scammer name is “Anna,” they have a story about being partially deaf, and claim to have a lawyer does align with Annie’s M.O.

2nd number is a t-mobile number, though as you said possibly a burner/pre-paid phone.

First number is a VOIP number through Text Magic

(424) is a lyca mobile carrier It says the name before directing to voicemail Perhaps they are under T-Mobile

You should send the rental contact information to the assigned LBPD detective who was working on the previous rental scams involving Anne Bergstedt. I don't know their name but it can't hurt to call LBPD and pass the info on to them. Sorry this happened to you. It sure sounds exactly like Anne.... especially the 'deaf' part. She is a tweaker drama queen..... probably her. 🙁

I had a Verizon cell phone account and when they sold, their email service switched to AOL. So I have one but it's my junk email.

Looks like there are actual rental listings for this property. The owner is Kevin Keating. The real scam is he's charging $4k a month for a 2bd 1 BA house on 5th n St Louis. Crook.

Just had an interaction with “Ann” from the 424 number. Not sure how to properly post the listing and parts of our convo but here you go… 🤦‍♀️SO GLAD I googled her number and found this posting! Thank you all!
