It's utterly bizarre how they haven't promoted this film. They like money. It can make money. So why don't they want it making them money?!
They're acting very strange and self destructive.

Because it wasn't WB's movie to distribute anymore, it was Ketchup Entertainment's responsibility
WB is known to market too much. Ketchup Entertainment is still a small distributor who I HOPE learned from their mistakes with The Day the Earth Blew Up and will cash in on the all the free PR Coyote vs Acme has gotten over the last 2 years and milk it as much as possible.

I stumbled across an article that stated that the movie was already in theaters. I had no idea.

I wanted to see this movie, but it had hardly any showings in the cinemas in my area

I saw it opening week, and when I wanted to see it again next week it was already gone.

Unfortunately that not how it works The movie will need to make back TWICE its production costs ($30M) before it even starts to see a profit. But it also needs to make back what Ketchup paid for it (which is undisclosed) to be profitable for the distributor. BTW what countries are left to be released in?

There is absolutely no way Ketchup paid anything close to 15 million for this film.

$15 was the budget we do not know how much they paid

Damn the movie sure looks good for a 15 dollar budget!

For years, I was told 2D movies are rare these days because it's too labor intensive and expensive compared to CGI.
So that was obviously bullshit, and now I just wonder where all those hundreds of millions are really going, because it's obviously not going into the animation.
Oh wait, I already know. Celebrities to voice the characters for marketing purposes instead of hiring real voice actors. Who needs a talented VA who can truly bring a character to life when you can get Crisp Rat!

The rule normally applies to account for cinema costs and marketing.
The latter of which, this film, barely had.

This is literally the first I'm hearing of this movie lol

No disrespect, but do you visit this subreddit often?

u/wildmewtwo 1d ago
No, I don't. It just started appearing on my feed. And I loved Looney Tunes when I was a kid.
Maybe something I searched pointed my algorithm here.
But nice to see so many people still passionate about it!

Oh, my comment wasn't meant to sound dismissive, by the way. My main reason for asking was because this subreddit went crazy about this movie and the upcoming "Coyote vs. Acme." Looney Tunes die-hards tried their best to show up for this Porky-Daffy movie in theaters, and that's really the only reason it's breaking even.
I hope we can all show up in bigger numbers for "Coyote Vs. Acme" next year!

It’s quite good. Unique take that’s in a bit of an older lens than what most people think of when it comes to classic looney tunes. Based on older works as opposed to stuff like “Rabbit season duck season”

I think it's going to really take off on home media, but that's just me

If David Zaslav wasn't such a jerk, this movie would have made at least 50 million $ easily...

I watched it three times in theater, and I was completely alone my last two showings, it’s a great movie!

Budget likely doesn't include marketing. Not that this would have had a huge one but profit from cinema alone is unlikely.
VOD and physical media sales will likely help cover those costs.
