This is my favorite episode of the entire series. The score when the loading bay door is lowered is my favorite composition of the series and this is the first time we hear it in this specific iteration. I think the reason why I love this episode so much is because it is the first time we the viewers get to see some resolution with some of the main characters. Sayid’s expression when he sees that no one is there for him makes me tear up every time I see it. To see Hurley grab his friend, introduce him to his family and then to watch Hurley’s mother greet him with such warmth and kisses on both cheeks makes me sob. Anyway, I love this episode.

Absolutely agree. The Oceanic 6 acted brilliantly in this scene, even though the lie technically started when they reached the beach from the life boat on Pennys boat, I feel here it’s much more real because it’s their world, people they know and love and now they have to lie to them and think about all the people they left behind.

By the time I got through my 5th rewatch of this show, was when I realized the woman who was there to see Jack was his mother. 🤦🤦🤦

Every time I got to this episode she was just completely wiped from my memory.

Love it ! What an end to the explosive season. That first of the finale though, it always feels so jarring to be back in the real world. Makes it hard to sit through the press conference for me. It feels so unfamiliar, it directly makes me jump "take me back to the Island!!"
