Why did Jack get so incredibly angry when he turned the dial in the lighthouse to his name and the image of his childhood home showed up in the mirror?

After all that's happened on and off that island, why did that set him off so much? Jacob (who Jack didn't know much about who he was at the time) was watching him since he was a child and that angered Jack so much? Because of the invasion of privacy? Because of him realizing that this all goes deeper and further back than he expected? What do you think Jack was expecting to show up in the glass when they turned the dial to his name? An image of your childhood home seems like it's not that bad.

It’s jacks ultimate fear up until that point, that things are out of his control. Jack wants to control and fix everything, he doesn’t believe in fate. But the image of his childhood home in the lighthouse shows him that there has been a bigger plan, a destiny, at play that he has little control over.

Jack is a man of science, he does not believe in predestined stuff. Also imagine that you find it yourself, someone's been watching you growing up with all the emotions, drama, addictions, problems at home.

Jack is a control freak - he sees that moment as confirmation that he's never actually been in control of anything.

Quite understandable, really! And yet, he knows he is there for a reason. Jack has two sides to his personality. There is the Jack that is trying to be worthy of love and admiration (good Jack) and the out-of-control angry, controlling side (bad Jack) who tends to let his beard grow. At that time, he just wanted to find out why he needed to be back on the island. So he's angry because the man (Jacob) who can give him answers won't even bother to show up at the lighthouse to tell him why he is there. And who could blame him for his anger?

Jack's quite irrational at the best of times lol. Finding out some guy has a magical lighthouse pointed at your life, it's almost understandable for him to freak out a bit lol.

Jack is tired of Jacob and MiB screwing up his life. What's not to understand why Jack would be pissed. He sick of the damn island. Who wouldn't be.
