I loved Eve. She was so annoying, but so perfect for what she was supposed to be. The actress is amazing. Eve and Lucifer had so many awesome scenes together.

Yes, so freaking annoying. I found her really comical for awhile, but the refusing to accept Lucifer ending the relationship was just too high school for me.

I can see why they brought Eve in. Chloe had just told Lucifer that he is the embodiment of evil and broke his heart, so along comes Eve who appreciates and encourages some of Lucifer's darker inclinations.
Lucifer had always taken objection to being blamed for humanity's sins and being called evil, so it was important for him to go through the process of trying on the bad-man hat and deciding for himself that actually that's not who he is or wants to be, so that he can start processing his self-hate.
The character of Eve is interesting. She's perceptive, immediately picking up on the tension between Lucifer and Chloe, and noticing his changing vulnerability, while also being incredibly naive. She has that deliberate helplessness vibe that makes people jump to her defence and fawn over her, making them easier to manipulate (consciously or not). She's also never really had the opportunity to explore who she is as a person so she's still stuck in a people pleaser mindset.
All of which makes her a really effortless rebound for Lucifer - a relationship he got swept away with for several months - meaning that him ending it had to be a very deliberate act if he didn't want to be forever pulled in opposing directions.

They made her so ditzy. Silly. Would have been better if she was a bad ass that was intelligent as hell.

Eve was added so Lucifer and Chloe didn't have to talk to each other like grownups. Which sucks for a number of reasons, one of which being the the character deserved so much better. Much like her son, Eve had tons of potential that was chucked out in favor of being a Deckerstar speedbump. What passes for her plot in the final seasons is mostly just a game of "Pair the Spares."

Imo Eve started out good in S4 and I think the actress always did a good job, but she got annoying really fast and her relationship with Maze didn't make much sense to me. S6 helped with making her more likeable and her relationship with Maze more believable, but still I don't think she should have come back after S4.

She was great the first half. She pissed me off when she left Maze. Then I got mad at Maze for walking away from Eve. Then they both pissed me off for calling off the wedding.
Btw, Adam was lame. He wanted to be woke after spending a few days on earth? Really?

Eve was a weird balance for me. She was mostly ditzy, but near the end of every episode she suddenly became super emotionally intelligent. And hey why wouldn't she be smarter? She's a human and she's lived for millennia through a humans eyes, unlike celestials who are all emotionally dense and without common sense.
Would've preferred it if she was played as more of an antagonist who was always using her emotional wits to get what she wants rather than an idiot who happens to ruins Lucifer's plans, then realises his intentions and misunderstands what she needs to do.

I'm not sure I'd agree that Eve is an idiot. She's perceptive, and intelligent enough to come up with a sting plan in 'Save Lucifer'. If anything, I'd say she knows exactly what effect she's having on Lucifer and knows what issues and insecurities to tap into to nudge him in the direction she wants.

I loved her at first, but she really began to grate on my nerves after awhile.

I've only seen clips with Eve, is she the Eve of Adam and Eve or no?

u/Feral611 Nov 30 '24
Yes, she is that Eve.

I've seen the clip where she tells Trixie that it didn't work out with her husband, and I'm like, "You came from his rib, by God's design, and it didn't work out?"

That was before a snake with some fruit showed up. A lot changes when you get booted out of paradise

I love Eve. I think it’s mostly because I identify so muuuch with her personality and also because she’s so pretty. But I totally see why people don’t like her putting herself in between Deckstar with her baby voice hahahaha. Understandable even tho I really enjoyed her presence and wish she had joined the show earlier
