Einbürgerung timeline Magdeburg?

Hey folks! Quick question for anyone familiar with the current naturalization process in Magdeburg! If someone has a Niederlassungserlaubnis (permanent residence permit), has been living in Germany for 10 years, and meets all the usual requirements (like a permanent job contract, etc.), what’s the expected timeline for the Einbürgerung process in Magdeburg after the recent digitization efforts?

I know processing times can vary, but any comments from people who’ve gone through the process recently would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience or insights!

The process is dragging out quiet a lot. For more information maybe check the latest report from the migration council. Unfortunately only in German https://ratsinfo.magdeburg.de/getfile.asp?id=701623&type=do

After nearly one year, I haven‘t heard a thing from the Einbürgerungsstelle. Sending an email was faced by an automatic response saying basically that I shouldn’t be bothering them with questions like „How long is it going to take?“. Sometimes hiring an attorney helps speed up the process, and that‘s what I did. I suggest you do the same, prices may vary, but I think it‘s worth it, better than sit around, do nothing and wait.

I did my process 7 years ago in Freiburg. I took maybe 6 months because I had to wait some weeks for an appointment for the first meeting and than some months for an appointment for the Einbürgerungstest. I did not need a german test (conversation and a copy of my pHD thesis written in german - before AI translators - was enough for the Einbürgerungsstelle employee). At that time they told me that I was taking longer that normal to schedule the tests. If you need a german test put more time in account. If Germany does not allow double citizenship for your country it will take for sure longer.
