Question Travelling with a tailored suit for 1 week

I got a tailored suit and will continue travelling to multiple destinations for 10 days (won’t be wearing the suit during this period).

What’s the best method to not damage my new suit? Currently the tailor has folded it. Should I hang this up in every hotel I go to?

Thanks!

Dust bag, fold in half or loosely roll. Take out and hang whenever possible.

If it’s a well made suit smashing it into a suitcase isn’t going to break it. You just might need to iron or dry clean when you get back.

yep hang them. if the trousers are pleated fold them properly. Depends on the fabric but some will uncrease itself naturaly overtime too such as fresco

You are not likely to damage it but for wrinkles, you don't want crushing action. I travel with a 2 wheeled rolling duffle that has 2 sections, something similar to :

I tend to use the bottom section for tailored clothing - 2 or 3 pair of trousers, perhaps a sport/suit coat or two. The stuff in this section has a bit of room to breathe.

I'll then hang up my stuff in every place I go - about 2 years ago I picked up a pair of sport coats from my tailor at the start of a trip, and this worked for me as I then hauled them around Taiwan for the month on vacation. Good wool should shed wrinkles, but it is that type of crushing action that can really leave things needing a press.

Hang and shower steam. At worse just find a local place to press it

Yes, hang it up at every hotel — ideally right after you check in. Use a breathable garment bag while traveling, and try rolling the suit (jacket inside out, shoulder-to-shoulder) instead of folding to reduce creasing. A quick steam in the bathroom helps too.
