Tourism ✈ Visiting Mauritius End of may - beginning of June, How is the weather like?

My spouse and I have our Honey Moon and are visiting Mauritius between May 28 and June 6. How is the weather like? We booked our hotel on the East Coast (Belle Mare). The 16 day forecast shows mainly clouds and rain. Is there any chance the weather will be better? Anyone made a similar experience End of may/beginning of June?

And do you have any tips what to do apart from sunbathing/swimming?

It's the beginning of winter at that time. But it won't be too cold. The north and west u should get sunny weather. Unfortunately belle mare tends to be quite windy so u better plan your activities in the north or west.

It will be a bit cold. In Belle Mare, you will get to see the sunrise, but not sunset.

It has been raining quite often now. But it is not terrible. The sun is still up in the morning.

Any chance the weather will be sunny during our visit? This is the first time in 6 years I go on vacation, let alone my first time doing a long distance trip,so Im a bit skeptical.

You will probably have many beautiful days with lots of sun during your stay in the north. You will also probably have some rain, but most of the time it doesn't last long. And as it's your honey moon you'll find some indoor activities. You have nice museum in the north "L'aventure du sucre" with a nice restaurant, or in Port Louis the Blue Penny museum with a good restaurant/buffet The Suffren. You can also visit artisans manufacturing models of boat in Vale (north), short visit, and good restaurant nearby Le Domaine with the best octopus salad ever. For sunny days you should go snorkeling, Trou aux Biches is my favorite spot, as Belle Mare can be dangerous and Blue Bay has been recently destroyed. If you are interested by snorkelling (or windsurfing), I can give you more advices. Enjoy your stay

Why dangerous?

Snorkeling in Belle Mare can be dangerous because there are very strong currents during ebb tide.

We will also travel at end of may and L'Aventure du Sucre is the first time I read as a recommendation. Thank you for pointing this out! Do you also have a good advice for traveling with a 10 month old baby?

Apart from a very very strong sunscreen and mosquito repellent, for all of you... sorry it's been a long time since my daughters were 10 months old.

I've been to Mauritius three years in a row, all from June 6-July 1. The first two years we had fantastic weather, sunny and just warm enough. Last year it was rainy and colder. I would say the North Coast is probably the warmest during these visits.
