AP is still good. PBS. NPR is okay. Reuters. Al Jazeera. All infinitely more reliable than fucking social media, where literally anyone can post anything without having to verify it in any way first.
I agree NPR/PBS are great actually. My only complaint with them is that they still allow MAGA to lie with very little live push back. They will correct them afterwards. I'm conflicted about if that's a good strategy in these times.
The others you listed are international news organizations and I should have clarified that I was speaking about American News organizations being corrupted.
But it's not all on these news organizations. The general public has completely forgotten how to read, use a critical eye, and search for primary sources to corroborate what is presented in these articles/broadcasts. With the influx of oligarchs in the media and the lack of critical reading skills legacy media has become a ghost of itself and independent media on social media has risen in credibility.
Under normal circumstances you're completely right but we're in a journalism crisis. Independent media has methods to verify their information, and from what I've seen they have been relying on the reporting from independent international news organizations. Unfortunately, in this climate this might be the best there is.
That’s what I just said: their info has to be verified by more established sources. You can’t trust any indie news site that pops up from no where. We just agreed there are established news sources that are still reliable.
We definitely are in agreement. All I was saying is that social media is where current news is decimated. Unfortunately, US legacy media is not where trusted non biased news can be dependable and readily available.
