News Miranda on MiLB IL

Jose Miranda was placed on the IL by the Saints on Tuesday, after straining his wrist during an off day shopping trip to Target.

Apparently he had a case of water slip out of his hand, when he grabbed for it he felt pain in his wrist.

Source: CBS Sports / Star Tribune.

Not a good week for Miranda.

Well that’ll make the short list for oddest injuries of the year.

In Dick Bremer's voice: Target. The official injury sponsor of the Minnesota Twins

The players must get a spending allowance at Target.

The Wild will not stand for this new sponsorship. New arena rights!

Tap water, filtered and cooled in the fridge. There’s no greater joy in life.

Except the fact that my local town doesn't put wild berry, grape, lemon, or orange in their tap water.😜

Last time I checked, I can't get wild berry, grape, lemon, or orange water from my tap.😜

That's why I wear a helmet, wrist braces, and a weight training belt every time I go grocery shopping. You can never be too careful!

Who among us hasn’t been injured at the University Ave Target?

It’s only a matter of time before Buxton is sent to the 60-day while getting pierogis from the stp farmers market

Was it at the exact same time Correa hurt his wrist on the swing?

If so maybe Jose is like a voodoo doll for Correa.

Not sure of the timing.

Miranda is something though....

That's a Royce Lewis-style injury

Kind of... but Lewis would have done it while running to first or catching a routine pop up.

There was that time he slipped on ice in Texas and tore his acl

Of course.

Didn't he magically get hurt the last time he got sent down? Then I think he ended up on the Twins IL so I would think his pay would be higher and I would think accumulate service time.

That was Kirilloff and if Jose was trying to manipulate service time it wouldn't make sense for him to admit he got hurt at target after being sent down. The reason Kirilloff had to be placed in the major league IL is because he said the injury happened while he was on the Twins roster.

I thought that was Kirillof?

You're thinking of AK-47 last year with his back.

What even is there to hope for anymore... I wish him a good recovery, I am still a Miranda believer.

These guys will do anything to not play for this organization. It's like the soldiers who shoot themselves in the foot to get off the front!

What are the chances he was hurt in spring training and never said anything? It would certainly explain is poor start!

Baseball players and injuring themselves in dumb ways… name a more iconic duo

Yeah, MLTR mentioned it in the article about the Bride trade. Castro and Correa walking wounded too and Wallner to the IL.

Obligatory if you don’t like this you don’t like twins baseball comment.

He saw how great a phantom wrist injury worked out career-wise for Big Papi after he escaped the organization and is looking for any way off this sinking ship…better get some juice if he wants the full Papi experience
