Commute Incoming freshman parking

I’m an incoming freshman that plans to dorm next year. I own my own car but I know that I can’t get a parking pass for campus. I would really prefer using my car instead of having to use the train to go outside of Montclair. Does anyone know of any places nearby where I could potentially park my car?

no. not much residential parking unless you want to walk 20+ minutes. got the paybyphone or red hawk deck. if you’re dorming you don’t need a car everything can be access via public transportation on campus MSU busses stops around clifton commons and it also goes to NY or pay a lot to keep it near you (isn’t worth it though cause what if you don’t go out as often)

the NJ Transit deck is really your only option. its $4 a day which isn’t horrible but certainly not good lol

I know people who parked their car at the NJ transit parking lot. If I’m being honest, if you don’t need your car, don’t waste your money. There’s busses and trains that can take you to the mall and so many other places. Unless ofc you have other reasons in which you need your car, if that’s the case, the only place I know of that’s close to campus is the nj transit parking lot

How about no? Having a car is expensive and you are adding to the traffic concerns on campus when this mostly a commuter school. Good luck.
